Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Confirmed : XBOX one = 8 GB of DDR3 & 1,24 Tflops

None of you have seen a single game... just flops that are not the entire story. Yet its going to be massively different?

For fuck's sake get your heads out of your asses.

3rd parties will have identical games. That's like 85% to 90% of each consoles library.

1st parties will like both look very close and only the most videophile person will see any difference.

God its going to be those damn comparison videos all over again where there is no difference yet both sides will claim unfounded victory.

50% OMG!!! fuck percentages. Its 1.2TF to 1.84TF. That difference is minor when they both will have ALL of the other same technologies being utilized. Furthermore its only one rating of many possible areas within a GPU.

Well I sure as hell know on which side I'd rather be on.

Damn it, no secret sauce. But it was expected.

Hopefully MS can compete with price because as of right now the majority of gamers are totally siding with Sony.

You seem to know a lot of gamer to claim this...
Kind of ridiculous claim if you ask me :)

And please, do not waste your time replying that your "friends" and "entourage" are all excited about PS4 and not for the what the Xbox One is offering just because of DDR3 vs GDDR5, it will just make your clain look even ridiculous

It's not very difficult to check trends if you surf the internet the whole day.

Most gamers are siding with PS4 at this point. Fact.

I fail to see where the GPU power was confirmed, this is still just yet another thread discussing a rumour.

Also while I undestand why people infer it is DDR3 due to having the embedded SRAM, that isn't a confirmation either.

1.2TFLOPS to 1.84TFLOPS is the difference between HD 7770 and HD 7870.

No, it's the difference between a 7770 and a 7850.

Don't lie to make your favorite console look better.

Anyways, I predicted these specs long ago. The only thing I was wrong about was them having 4GB RAM, yay me!

Because the internet opinion and the opinion of those dedicated hardcore gamers in real life too, is such a strong force.

What would you rather have for your favorite console, twice as many dedicated fans than the competition or twice as many neutral gamers than the competition?

I am way beyond the point that I think dedicated gamers or core gamers are superior than other gamers.
Actually I think core gamers are more stupid, but that is the only difference. And I am a core gamer for the most part.

I hope current gen has fostered millions of dedicated Xbox fans. X360 earned such a large install base of gamers this gen. Young gamers who love Xbox Live and hopefully become loyal to the Xbox and who will eventually find their way to internet forums and start passionately promoting and defending their brand.

$600 consoles confirmed

I'm still puzzled by amount of transistors inside One - they said 5 billion, and that's really big number if only 768 shader GPU is inside.

For comparison, 7770 is 640 shader GPU with 1.5billion transistors, and 7790 is 896 shader GPU with some 2billion transistors, so One's rumored GPU should be somewhere in-between (in transistor count, performance is around 7770 due to lower clock speed).

PS4 has 1152 shader GPU and that should put it at some 2.8 billions - so it'll be really interesting to see what's really inside One, or at least what MS counted to come to that 5 billion number.

heres a site putting an xbox one at 2 tflops

right.... that's the part i've been trying to find out.  whatever those extra 2 billion transistors are doing they will be doing something

PS4 in the same boat again, if the Xbox manages to be dominant again in the west it will be the place for third party.
Means it won't profitite as much from it's power people are hoping for. (obviously first party is another beast)

I don't think that will be the case. Developers will develope for PC first, even if Xbox is the most popular, the similarities between all the sytems means it wouldn't be a sweat for devs to bring the ps4 versions that bit closer to the PC and above the Xbox. I'm not sure how ps4 being 30% more powerful will manifest itself for 3rd parties. It willprobably be hard to notice without comparison vids.
