I understand where you're coming from, but relinquishing your rights as a consumer is a big price to pay for the possibility of better games.

I'm not going to defend the policy, particularly when they haven't released full details of it yet but your statement is misleading.  This is a publisher enforcing their end user license agreement which have been around for decades, you as a consumer do not "own" the games you buy.  Technically re-selling them has always been against the publisher/developers wishes.  It seems anti consumer but they aren't in any way infringing a consumers right given the current information we have available.

But a producer of goods cannot have it both ways, cannot have their cake and eat it too. Producers can only sell the goods they make once.

I'm not sure what this new policy means for consumers, but it sounds like we're being penalized for buying and selling used games. So I feel like my rights as a consumer are being infringed upon.

I know many developers and producers want to get rid of used games, but frankly it's not our job as consumers to protect their jobs, to safeguard their industry. If they cannot be profitable on their own in a world of used games, then it's their fault. Not ours. We shouldn't be punished because of poor business decisions.

Might be worth a read, it would seem in the EU at least they cannot block you selling your used games.  If anyone would interfere it's the European Union so we'll see just how much these do infringe on consumer rights soon enough .
