"The Verge reports that Xbox One will not be backward compatible with Xbox 360 titles. That is according to Mark Whitten, Microsoft's vice president for Xbox Live.

When asked if Xbox One will be able to play 360 titles over Xbox Live, or by downloading them, or by some means other than a disc, Whitten said the company had no plans for such a service at this time.

"The system is based on a different core architecture, so back-compat doesn't really work from that perspective," Whitten told The Verge."

So no 360-hardware in it. So no day one for me. Sad, but expected.

Wat!? NOOO---oh wait I already saw this coming from a mile away. I was kinda hoping for Stingray BC, though.

Yeah, I for one probably won't get a Xbox next time around... It's between PS4 and Wii U now, and PS4 ain't got no BC either....

Is bc that huge of an issue to you? The ps4 might be able to stream ps games eventually with gakai.

I missed out on a shit ton of games this gen (Red Dead, Tomb Raider and all the Uncharted), which means I either have to ditch those games or get a PS3 AND PS4...

After some of the bad stuff i've heard about the console like the 2nd hand thing. No BC is not a big deal really but it would of a nice feature. But what happens to all the Xbox 360 games that are available from Marketplace? do you they still work?
