Forums - Nintendo - Anyone else experiencing analog stick Deadzones on their WiiU?

You know that one post I made about Super Mario World being difficult?

Well I figured out why. The Analog sticks have really big deadzones. I tried this with Monster Hunter 3 U as well, you literally cannot walk until you push a fair amount. Haven't tried Nintendoland yet but I will.

Jesus if I knew it was going to be like this I would've preferred that they had gone with their original circle pads. Why did we need analog again? Oh right...3rd parties. Some help that turned out to be. Maybe the renmant of the circle pad design is causing some analog problems. Tried my 3DS one, and you do need to move the pad a fair bit for it to detect movement.

Damn. Nintendo would've been better off just sticking to the dual circle pad design. Noticed it in a couple playthroughs of Resident Evil:R demo as well.

Nope. I have had zero issues with my GamePad. Arguably the best video game controller ever made, if not for the size. But without the size, you wouldn't get the huge touch screen, so alas.

Blimey, it seems you wasted the underneath part of the stick, that is really a pain, I can relate with my N64 controller, that stick is wasted!!! >.

Can't say I've ever run into that problem. If there's one thing I won't complain about the Wii U, it's the controllers. The Gamepad is great (even if the select and start button positions are more than a bit annoying), and the Wii U pro controller might very well be my favorite controller ever. Helps that Nintendo has that D-Pad patent.

Dang it. Knew I shouldn't have let too many people touch that thing.

Ah well, I can always send it to Nintendo.

After some more testing, I have concluded that it's mostly the left analog stick having this problem. Right one's a lot more responsive.

Dang it. No one's touching that thing now. Time to call Nintendo.
