Is there anything particularly wrong with people getting hyped about a teaser video in a thread about that teaser video?

I fail to see what the problem is.  I may have not understood the Tomodachi kerfuffle in COMG; but I just left them to it while it was happening.  Different strokes for different folks.

Besides, it's best to have it contained in 1-2 places than spilling out all over the forums.

Cool, that wasn't the question I asked though. Do you recognize the difference between a circle and a triangle because you seem rather confused about the differences between objects.

Nylevia - quoting you doesnt work. My ps3, 360, wii and my borrowed ps2 all stood up. Look at the drastic changes gen over gen of the psx/n64 to ps2/xbox it did start last gen. And that's not what i said ata ll.

This.  That is a very pointless video.  So its s black box that they will reveal at e3.... did we learn anything new?

Best thing they could have done is released a video with the actual console reveal 10 minutes before the 360 reveal.   Not a blurry pointless tease which tells us nothing we didn't already know.

This is just weak.

Are you genuinely argung any of those consoles look like a PC chassis from the same year as each of those consoles was released? because you sure like avoiding backing that up with.. you know... pictures of these dated PC cases that look like their console counterparts, even remotely.

No, I see no issue for that. But people acting like it's the best thing ever, and people trying to play down the whole thing, seem to be taking it a bit far. 

At the end of the day, it's a blurry picture of a box. That's cool and all, but I can't get excited for that. As you say, others may enjoy that and that's fine, but it's hardly "groundbreaking".
