Virtual reality is an inevitable conclusion to gaming input, so eventually, when the technology is there, I'm sure it will

Yes they can!

Just imagine a proper light saber game with M+ or Sixense.

People seem to forget that core gamers were pretty optimistic about this stuff during the Wii early years. But then the content never came, and industry propaganda and the content that was there hammered the terms 'motion controls' and 'casual' together.

Zelda SS had the chance to change that, but Aonuma's incompetence ruined it.

I LOVE ICELAND!

if by core you mean mario, pinkmin and games like them, yes
if by core you mean starcraft, halo or other games where you need to be fast to be competitive, nope

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

It's to early to tell. I don't think motion controls have been refined enough. This time next gen, ask the question.

How can, say a sword fighting game not possibly be fast, balanced, and competitive?

Core Gamer - yes - someone interested in a variety of games.

*Snob Gamer* - not for a while yet. They like to try to act cool and downplay things because they think it makes them look better. When in reality it just makes them look not very adventurous.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

As soon as it gets good enough to be a solid, accurate input.

THis, thats all there is to it really, there are too many genres where the controls simply dont add anything to the experience, FPSs is the only one iMHo that does and only a handful of games utilize that in the first place.

A console with motion controls won this generation and will sell over 100,000,000 units.

I agree with this, but it was more than just content the controller itself, was terribly inaccurate so it didnt even deliver on its promise, and you kinda need accuracy if we are talking "core" games or you could simply take the Mario Galaxy route and just have the motion controls be a very small part of the experience but then thats kind of a moot point.

I would help if it they were as fluid and imidiate as the leap motion promotion videos show:
