Forums - Nintendo - If Nintendo exits gaming, where would Zelda go? Where would all of their franchises go!!!

I think Nintendo and Sony would work on an exclusive deal for some franchises, the niche ones like Fire Emblem and JRPGs. Maybe stuff like Pikmin too.

For the rest they will be multiplat. No use keeping Mario tied to one console.

When I say gaming, I mean in the system race. Software only.

I would assume that they would either go multiplate, but maybe they would pick a side.

But games like Zelda may do better on just one side. You do not want to see a mobile Zelda game. Plus, wouldn't it feel wierd to have a Nintendo game on the PC as well? I think they should stick to their roots and keep their games on consoles.

In the end I would pick Sony. Who we should have partnered with in the beginning. Microsoft will never give up and could never be big in Japan. Nintendo and Sony are big in Japan and this would give them what they want. Great Sony games and experiences, with their favorite Nintendo games included.

Although, some may want them to go to Microsoft, which could finally help them have a foothold in Japan. But that is not my wish, even though I like the 360 and bulky Xbox before it.

Mario is Missing FREAKED THE SHIT OUT OF ME.

Also: these franchises would disappear, which is exactly what the "third party campaigners" would want, since that would leave all those yummy ideas free to be absorbed, while allowing deniability of their origins some 10-15 years from whence this theoretical cataclysm is set to occur.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

Yeah, franchises like Zelda or Metroid shouldn't go to smart phones, at least not in main series form. The Marios and such would probably be fine on mobile devices, though.

Most Nintendo properties hold little interest for me, to be honest, but I would like to see their newer RPGs on a Sony console, like Fire Emblem or Xeno games.

I don't really know why we're talking about this, though, as there will be at least one more home console past the Wii U and at least one more past the 3DS--which itself will probably last several more years.

these threads make me depressed :(

They would take them to their grave. When/If that happens, I'm going with them.

do we need multiple threads for this? couldn't this be combined with the pokemon thread?

Too late, SEGA has been making games for Nintendo consoles for well over a decade now.

I don't mind SEGA making games for companies like Nintendo who got in to this business for the RIGHT reasons. (i endorse SEGA making games for Nintendo now that they are third party)

It does pain me however to see them make games for sony though.
