The only FPS I want now is Doom 4, and maybe Wolfenstein(if they go to the correct direction).

These are the perfect scenario for a survival horror FPS, but open world a la Farcry 3. Yes i know I should play Metro last light, I will. The first resistance to me is still the best one. So make an open world survival horror FPS with multiple factions and creative and lethal aliens, if not don't bother. |
I would love a Resistance Retribution 2 following the story of James Grayson, they ended it perfectly for a direct sequel in Moscow to elaborate the story of the "Cloven Killer".
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
Greatness Awaits!

Again; this is not the same as the game being out. Saying that a game sucks before it is out is misleading, because unless you've played it early, you don't know if the game sucks or not. A demo can be misleading. It can also be a good guide. But saying "given how Fuse turned out" (implying that it turned out poorly) when the game is not yet out is dishonest. We don't know how the game turned out, because reviews aren't out, and the game isn't out. |
yes a demo can be misleading like aliens colonial marines but no one outside of gearbox got to play the singleplayer until the game came out but if you played a demo then didn't like you still at all play the full game i thought the beta for playstation all stars sucked and it turned me off from ever buying it
I personally do not judge too much from a demo. For example, I tried the Yakuza 3 demo a few years ago and my initial reaction was that it was not an appealing experience (it really only showed a brief example of the combat, similar to Fuse). It wasn't until I actually played the full game (at the insistence from a friend) that I realized how horrible of a snap judgement I had made. Since then, the Yakuza series has gone on to be one of my favorites this generation, so I personally try not to make snap judgements off of demos anymore.
it's good to move on from a franchise, giving it a much needed break, but fuse will tank if you listen to the fans anyway.
i'll buy fuse regardless. just hope it turns out great. heres hoping for at the least 500k sold.

Sorry, the game isnt very good. Its not the same but you can tell plenty by the demo. Why dont you try playing it before you diss what im saying? Its not like you even know what it looks and plays like.
If to be able to tell if a game is good you need to play it from beggining to finish then most of us dont know much about games.
i hope fuse doesnt fail. or atleast it doesnt fail to a point where it kills them

I think they made the right move. Going onto the original concept for Overstrike certainly seemed the right choice at the time; taking what they learnt in shooters from Resistance with a bit of wacky + third person perspective from Ratchet. I agree with Ted that Resistance had done what it needed to do for the time being.
Somewhere along the way Overstrike got turned into Fuse though. Jury's still out and I'll certainly try it myself at some point in the future, but I think that's when it turned from being a good idea to dump Resistance to being a bad idea. Because if Fuse doesn't take off (and all signs are pointing to it not doing); then they may need something to fall back on.
And I think Ted realises this. He was so open about dropping Resistance like a rock with that video he made at the time. Now, both here and on reddit, his approach has basically been "never say never".
