Looks like there is Nintendo's money in Sega's pocket :D. Now they need to do this with EA, and they will be almost fine.

SEGA games sell EXTREMELY well on Nintendo's platforms (The Mario & Sonic games, SEGA All-Star Racing Transformed on the WiiU even outsold the PS3/Xbox360 version), if there is any 3rd party dev needing no additional incentive to bring games to Nintendo's consoles it is SEGA.

And that is why yakuza 1,2 were available for the gamecube.  And that is why they ported Yakuza 4,5 to the wii right?

Sigh...

Face it, SEGA sold more games on Nintendo platforms than on any other. Nintendo does not need to money-hat SEGA.

I dont care about that, we are talking about Yakuza on this thread in case you did not read the op.

...Fine, if you want to keep your perception of Nintendo as a dog who needs to do stunts for passants to receive a bone so be it. I don't have time to waste with the likes of you.

Back to gaming...

I don't even know this game and I don't care enough to google yet another HD port from the ps2 era.

I hope next Nintendo Direct shows us something significant, otherwise its gonna be a disastrous holiday season for ninty.

So another port already? When is Nintendo actually getting any significant new game from third parties in Japan? The Wii U is simply not going to sell there with only ports.

Someone name me a significant WiiU game that has been announced for the Japanese market from any third party that's not a port.

The console is in worse shape than the Xbox on its early years in regards to support, way worse.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei

Third party game, not a 1st party mash up.

Next.

Had no clue Atlus was bought by Nintendo.

Try again

The game is published by Nintendo, and not by Atlus.

You really don't have a clue.

I'm surprised by the upper range of some of the reactions in here.

Potentially, yes, this could be something big. Yakuza is a moderate-sized franchise in Japan which has been PS3-exclusive so far.

But for the time being, we should just treat what it appears to be. An attempt to gauge the fanbase interest on a certain platform as we transition into the next generation. Not a very good one at that (since it's a port of a port). This'll struggle to reach any semblance of decent numbers.

I could see Yakuza going multi-plat with Wii-U next gen just as an attempt to expand the audience. They've been sitting on the same ~ 630k fans the entire 7th generation. An exclusive Wii-U version seems out of the question, although stranger things have happened.

But just as I don't expect Ninja Gaiden; Tekken or Warriors Orochi etc. to go Wii-U exclusive simply because an earlier entry was ported to the console; I would apply the same logic here.
