Forums - Gaming - What are your thoughts on Microsoft (Game) Studios?

Microsoft closed Ensemble Studio, the only good thing they had. I will never forgave them for that.

They are worthless as a game editor. They also turned Rare into a completely useless thing.

I have a grudge with them because of the RROD, I will never forgive them for that.

Other than that I really don't care about them for the most part, Halo is cool but that's about it for me.

They are not responsible for that.  Read what I said earlier they are only responsible for publishing games on the 360 made by other developers this thread is pretty pointless because its more or less like asking how do you like 20th Century Fox distributing Dreamworks Animation Pictures.

They may not were responsible for "creating" the RROD, but it was their job to test the system and make sure the consoles were ready for shipping. Or you tell me MS wasn't aware of the RROD before the consoles launch? If that's the case then that shows they are a company with A LOT of management problems, something strange considering how much money they have on the pocket.

That not their job either Microsoft (Game) Studios is a subisdiary of Microsoft their only responsibily is to publish games.  That like saying 20 Century Fox is responsible for the success of The Croods even though all they did is distribute the film all the work was done by Dreamworks Animation Studios or like blaming VW for owning a bad Audi yes they are part of the same company but none of the people that make and design VW's are directly involved with making and designing Audi's.

Totaly agree both Alan Wake and Forza are triple AAA titles.  I especially like the whole Forza series.  On that note Remedy, Turn 10 and Playground Games are excellent developers.  As a matter of fact I liked Remedy before they made Alan Wake the first two Max Payne games are great.

I said B Tier, not rated. "AAA" is a stupid phrase that needs to die in a hole.

Halo would be classed as an A Tier franchise. It sells 10 Million regularly. Forza would be a B Tier franchise that sells between 4-6 Million with a main release.

Yeah this thread is pretty pointless because it akin of asking how do you like 20th Century Fox distribution Dreamworks Animation pictures.  Instead of asking how do you like the movies made by Dreamworks Animation or the studio itself.

They pretty much did nothing the credit should go to the developers that actually made the game.  That like giving 20th Century Fox credit for the success of The Croods even though they had nothing to do with it they are just lucky enough to distribute all Dreamworks Animation movies for the next five years.

Read what I said earlier this thread is pretty much pointless Microsoft (Game) Studios is just a publisher all the love or hate should go to the developers that actually made the game published by them.

Does it really matter that much?

Im not going to make a new thread every day to ask people what they think about the hundreds of developers on the market right now.

I would get banned. They are alright I guess...

MS is responsible for pushing online gaming forward so quickly and this is probably the best thing I can say about them. It is a big awesome thing.

Halo 2 got me into online gaming and coop besides sports and car games. It changed gaming into a more social experience and I love it.

MS got all the third parties previously exclusive to Sony. It is fair, but it made the two consoles almost identical. MS has not made enough IPs to differentiate or make them superior to the PS3.

I hate how you have to pay to play multiplayer they are the only major platform to do this.I also am not fond of many of their business decisions I consider anti- consumer.

Arcade has way more games than PS store that are my type the only thing is I think most of them are over priced and the sales suck compared to steam. I also the most PS store games are over priced.

I have a knack for Halo. Most of the rest of Microsoft I don't loath or hate, but I surely don't love it/them.

It's as simple as that really. No strong feelings one way or the other........
