Let's Go has outsold Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon by quite a bit worldwide (11 million vs. 8.5 million), despite being more expensive and on hardware with a much-smaller installed base.

But right, right, Japan's the only region that matters. Let's Go has sold, what, over 1.5 million there, and Sword/Shield are trending better? I mean, I don't quite grasp your alarmism, this is hardly some Yo-kai Watch-tier free fall. It could absolutely beat USUM's 1.2 million first week, though I'm guessing at that point the goalpost moves to [some other Pokémon game that sold better].

For this thread? Yes, Japan is all that matters. It's the topic of the discussion at hand. How games will fare in the Japanese game market as measured by this one retail chain's preorders.

To be fair, COMG has lost its accurate measuring as we have seen in the last couple of years. I think you would enjoy looking at this chart more if you didn’t take it so seriously. Kinda like the amazon best selling charts. Not accurate measurements but fun to look at

I am surprised MHW is so low, especially compared to Persona 5. It is releasing very soon, and is MH of course.

I'm surprised it's getting preordered at all. It's much cheaper to just buy a used copy of base game and download the DLC than to buy the Iceborne physical copy.

Again this is COMG we are talking about. They are crazy for special editions and even crazier for Monster Hunter.

It is cheaper because that is the Master edition charting, I am sure a normal edition is the same price as the DLC, but clearly not charting.

If P5 did the same as MHW where you can buy the expansion as dlc then the points for P5R wont be so high. Or perhaps it died down since MHW did start strong but it didnt have the legs.

Huh? In Japan, MHW sold 2 mill at launch and has now sold ~4 mill. Worldwide, it shipped 5 mill at launch and has now sold 13.1 mill.

Yeah, it had an incredible strong launch but I wouldn't say that the game didn't have legs.

I was talking about Japan but I didnt realize that it sold 4mil here. Must have only seen physical sales on Media create. Then I guess my first point would be the reason for its small numbers at COMG.

Well, it was never really accurate to begin with, but you could give the points a rough ratio of 1:1000 sales. Now, that ratio seems to more like 1:2500, maybe even 1:3000 by now.
