those Yakuza Kiwami 2 numbers in the combined chart make no sense - the SKUs only have 47pts and gained 3

Oh right I was counting the regular edition twice instead of the regular edition + the limited edition. Fixed!
It's quite obvious the reason. I will show you with some examples. PES2018 would be 05./0x. (020./0xx.) but that doesn't reflect Media Create numbers where we have PES2018 for last week at 10th position and with the possibility of going down. Additionally, you need to take into account the bias of Rakuten towards PES being the official sponsor of F.C. Barcelona (the team that appears on the cover). The same for DQXIPS4. In order to match with the most similar positions with Media Create or even Famitsu numbers, we have DQXIPS4 at 06./0x. (021./0xx.) and we have that game at 27th position in last week's numbers for Media Create. It would be illogical to jump from 27th to 6th, so no point on charting. USFII is a game that is being discounted by 50% on Rakuten, and using those games on actual rankings would be useless. I remember last year when Xenoblade X got a discount up to almost 1,000yen and was Top 5 for almost a month, and that didn't match actual charts from Media Create or Famitsu. FIFA for Switch, the same. It would be 08./0x. (024./0xx.) (counting PES2018 and DQXIPS4, not counting them it would be 06./0x.) and that doesn't match with Media Create or Famitsu numbers where the game was 8th last week and is expected to drop, I don't know, 60% at best?, so it would be impossible for the game to keep that 8th position or even be up to 6th. I hope this had clarified everything a little bit. |
Yes, now I understand. To be honest, I was thinking that the reason was something related to Media Create, but wasn't sure about it.
Thank you.

My first attempt in making a comparison table. My apologies for formatting. |
Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Going to be very interesting
Pokemon is doing much better than I expected, didn't think anyone would care about 3DS games so late into the cycle. Genuinely thought it was going to bomb.

Pokemon.... bomb........... Japan....
:| :| :|
Its Pokemon. The biggest franchise in Japan as far as I'm concerned. Its a main story game and Pokemon games have come late on other system life spans (BW2) and have done well. How would you think this would bomb? Its Pokemon!

No lead change today, as both games add 5 points to their total on their 17th day, with 16 to go.

The individual SuMo editions should start pulling bigger numbers now that the double pack is fullx pre-ordered.
MonHun world is doing well, wich is nice to see for the franchise.
