Famitsu is saying 193k for Zelda on the Switch so yeah I doubt Horizon is above that in the end.

Yeah I can't see Horizon selling that high. I'm guessing between 100-120k

Pc and ps4 have decent install bases and would get a better version.  Most ps4 and pc players aren't going to buy a switch. There's a market there.  Monster hunter games are pretty basic and not costly to make.

Unless Nintendo pays for exclusivity capcom are throwing away money by making it Switch exclusive.

Wait, what? Where did the logic come from that Monster Hunter was cheap or that they didn't push their platforms. Monster Hunter is arguably the best looking game on every platform they've been released on. They're very big budget games.

I'm not sure what the backing is for that, but given that they've been handheld games for the last 10 or so years, their development budget will likely as a result be substantially lower than if they had been on console. Given that mainline releases also seem to be basically yearly now, I assume they reuse assets a lot, which also cuts down on costs.

Very quiet day :/

That doesn't mean much when you have several hundred people sitll making the games. What makes a game more expensive is the development time and number of employees working it. If Monster Hunter 4 required 200+ people to make it, then it had a huge budget.

Obviously the spin-offs are indeed lower budget, but they also sell far less. It's a bit of a wash.
