PS3 is still that relevant?
So Final Fantasy XV has officially been delayed to November 29th for polishing and completion purposes. We have some updating to do here. After so many years of waiting, 2 months feels like nothing to me personally especially if it means more polish. But it does make SE dedicated event looks stupid now.
I can't tell if the delay will help to gather more steam in Japan, but at least it can't be worse. The relatively weak marketing efforts so far kinda makes sense now. But I think Nov might be a bad date for a worldwide release. It is usually filled with big new releases in the west.

Standard PR nothing more, reminds me of the delay of Uppers this year, FF15 went gold according to Tabata, which means they actually could have launched it in time if they wanted to. It´s very hard to believe that FF15s pre-order performance especially in Japan didn´t majorly affect their decission and that it wasn´t the main reason.
This way they avoid Persona5 (something that seemed to bother them even before announcing the release date, since there was a specific question in one of their surveys about Persona5) and launch at a commercially stronger period (basically the first week in December).

It sure is. The greatest 10 year console in Japan history. so many great games over 10 years.
But this is good. first tales launching on ps4 aswell so a lot of the fanbase will upgrade now and the rest will follow the next tales game. So basically ps4 gets a boost now and in future.
Yakuza is similar. some already upgraded, and the rest who intent to keep playing will upgrade this December as it's ps4 only.
So FF15 releasing November 29th.
So BEASTERIA this month, Persona 5 gets a decent launch window in September, probably after the new hardware.
Pes, battlefield, cod etc all before FF15.
Then yakuza 6 a week after it.
Edit:
So amazon Japan is interesting.
#1 BEASTERIA
#3 Persona 5
#4 BEASTERIA ps3
#5 FF15
Now #1 is the usual, but that's the highest P5 and FF15 have been in ages. is the P5 push finally happening? And how will the delay affect FF15? Will it fall back down again with the delay?
Another thing to note is that next month the GOTY edition of the witcher 3 should chart on ps4 adding to it's already impressive total.

A lot of great games indeed
Japanese home console market may be cut in half (based on 23.18 mill PS2 vs. 10.43 mill PS3) but those who stayed have great taste.
Looks like FFXV may have a chance now after all lol

They always had great tastes, the only issue is, for some reason last generations the developers decided to westernfy a lot of games and horrible development times.
