Edit: Plus there was a point, as evidenced by the comparsions with the XIII trilogy that at some point here, XV started out with much higher opening preorders than XIII, problem was that we were expecting that huge bump, that FF BOOST to happen eventually... and we're still waiting... to the point where some of us are thinking it won't happen.

In that thread Boutros thought that 1.5m would be difficult to achieve, which is less then FFXIII.

I personally predicted 1.4m LTD, which is much less.

FFXIII sold 1.95m which is quite a bit.

I don't think that was the general consensus.

perhaps, and this is just a perhaps, after Berseria and Persona drop Final Fantasy starts gaining a lot of points suddenly due to audience overlap

or maybe xv is just gonna flop real bad

That's what happen when you don't have a good character to sell the game. Who wants a game with 4 men wrestling each other in a tent? They'll be lucky to get even 500k first week. If it's not getting +10 everyday for the last month, we can predict even less than 500k.
