As for March 2016 the AVG. of digital sales is 25% in the west according to EA and Ubisoft.

In Japan yes, there are some times games with >20% digital or even >30%, but is most of times wester games or games with very low sales, with some exceptions like Dark Souls 3 or Bloodborne.

 

And don't forget that digital bigger is a game and lower are digital sales. This doesn't mean big games always have low digital sales, but usually digital ratio is bigger for games with low sales.

Gonna be really interesting to see what happens with Toukiden. Maybe I'm miles off and the Vita version will collapse and the PS4 version will sell well :o

I am fairly sure EA and others said 30%.

For Japan, for most Sony games and a few Nintendo  games that it is usually 15%-20%. But even Nintendo games have improved from basically 0% to 10%.

Yeah digital is a factor for FFVX. It could knock anywhere from 100k-250k off it's retail sales. So we could see an 800k opening but it really beat the 1m mark. I guess we'll find out eventually but this must be kept in mind.

Digital sales are also more profitable (for both publisher and Sony I think?) so they'll be please having a significant % of those this time around to help offset the big decline a little.
