Isn't there more Star Ocean games than Xenoblade?

Yeah, there are 6 mainline games and 2 remakes. But I just meant on an individual basis, Xenoblade never reached the heights that Star Ocean did in its prime.

Xeno franchise and Star Ocean franchise has never been that far off. Last gen only went awry when MS got SO exclusivity for a bit. In fact both franchises are close to the same age, and both followed the JRPG golden age and both are now selling very low numbers.

Its funny that the highest selling Xeno game sold more then the highest selling SO game in Japan.

I'm just referring to Xenoblade individually, not Xeno as a whole. The games are pretty different and are only considered spiritual successors in terms of name and specific details. It's really not the same thing as a longstanding franchise with the same name and sequels following each one (like Final Fantasy, Pokemon, Dragon Quest, Star Ocean, etc.)

Final Fantasy is massive and a lot of FFs are nothing like each other, especially Final Fantasy XV... But people will still argue and make comparisons between them.

A lot of people will be fans of Xeno anything, because Takahashi directed them all. People are not always fans of brands, sometimes they are fans of the people behind the name that made the game. When Miyazaki moved to make Bloodborne, people followed him.

Final Fantasy games are numbered and clearly a part of the same named franchise.

Bloodborne mechanically is very much a Souls game (and even then, Bloodborne sold significantly less than other Souls games in Japan).

Xenoblade has no such relation to Xenogears or Xenosaga other than the word Xeno.

Final Fantasy XV has no such relation to Final Fantasy 1 except the word Final Fantasy.

Xenoblade has same director as previous xeno games unlike Final Fantasy which switched directors all the time.

Bloodborne is pretty different from Demon souls...

There is a huge difference between spiritual successor and an actual sequel.

That is all.

Except Final Fantasy XV is the sequel to Final Fantasy XIV and nobody would expect them to be similar, or have similar sales patterns.

Meanwhile a science fiction action JRPG cannot be compared to a science fiction action jrpg with both having similar install bases and similar release dates. (SOV PS4 and Xeno X Wii U)

And the comparison was not ALL of SOV sales. It was just PS4 SKU effectively already helping make the comparison more valid.  Don't know why I even try to defend JRPGs anymore, pretty much all games will underperform in the current Japanese market...

The deluxe edition of ff is more pre-ordered than the standard version, that's interesting

Well aren't the deluxe version stocked much less?

And isn't fans are mostly pre ordering it right now?

Another freaking day without points for one single PS Vita game... o.O
This makes me really angry!!! If this happens again tomorrow, I will leave VGChartz... :/ xD

Haha, similar feeling here. Luckily, I'm also rooting for FFXV. so it's less disappointing.

The Yo-kai Watch 3 release date should be announced at this year's Level-5 Vision which is usually sometimes in April.
