you're right in what you say that we shoulsn't expect 1 to 1 levels of success. but there's no doubt pokemon could do well on console. imagine a pokemon RPG made to the level of Final Fantasy. It would be so good. And it would do very well. Not as well as the handheld versions but it would have great potential.

Seems like Pokkén will finish on par with Pikmin 3 and Xenoblade X. I expected a bit more of it but oh well.

I guess the hardware stock did really affect Pokken. Hopefully it will have nice legs....... if they put more content though.

Well for one, serious Pokemon console spinoffs always do well enough.  No it doesn't go over 10 mil but it does well enough.  Pokken, worldwide, will probably crack a million.  Which is pretty solid given the installbase of the Wii U and all the NX chatter floating around.

However, an RPG of that style would be great, but it would also be nigh impossible to create.  Gen 1 alone had 150 pokemon.  Now there's over 600.  And then there are numerous moves each can do and many of those moves would need unique animations for the various pokemon that can do them.  The workload and money needed to create it would be absurd.
