Don't know but I suppose it's because of the romanization from the japanese name, "sakuramento". And, since any consonant in japanese, except for "n" can be left out without a vowel sound, japanese people decided to add an "o" vowel to "t" and "d" consonant sounds. For example: Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance could be romanizaed as "kingudamu haatsu: doriimu doroppu disutansu"
