Star Wars in and by itself is pretty big in Japan. I'm more wondering about the fact that the game is doing well because it's a multplayer shooter, which are not exactly the best-selling genre in Japan (well, outside of Splatoon, but nobody came close to predicting how well the game would sell there because shooters don't do too well there)

They do Okay. Last year top selling "shooting game" GTA V at almost 1m. CoD did 150k+. BF3 in the past did 300k+ I think.

 

My guess is 150k+ now that PS4 has an install base to back it up.

Outside of the million for GTA V (and even those to a more limited degree), these numbers would be seen as massive failures if applied to the western markets. While I agree they are doing okay, the numbers just can't be compared to western sales figures.

You have to compare japanese numbers with japanese numbers. Shooters like Battlefield or Call of Duty can sell +300k in Japan.

Let's see how many games on Comg chart can sell more than +300k:

- Monster Hunter

- God Eater

- Kan Colle (maybe)

- Winning Eleven

Retail performance of this game is going to be interesting....and possibly hilarious. So much potential could go straight to waste....



I cannot imagine toilet-free life.

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

As for the charts: So much ending in the next 2 weeks, it will be interesting to see what games we will have charting in october.

Looks like Pokemon: SMD opened strong.
Mario Maker legs are starting to kick in.
Phantom Pain had a good 3rd week.
And Splatoon is still hanging around. All as we reach the end of September, and ever closer to the 4th quarter.
