I can't believe how insane the pre-orders are for JoJo's. With over 100 days to go would it be fair to expect over 1mil fw?

No it would not be roflmao

Haha excuse my ignorance :P What would we be expecting?

It's fine you'll get the hang of it in no time if you stick around!

I think 300k is in the bag but I'd be real suprised if it does better than 500k FW.

I predict for jojo 500k first week

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Damn. Terraria?

Also it seems Animal Crossing started some sort of a life-sim boom. With Rune Factory and Fantasy Life also doing well.

So Soriku, what are the highest 1st week sales of a SMT mainline game so far?

Weak SMT...weak.

Though hiska posted this on GAF:

I'm reading some retailer blogs and all of them are reporting good Shin Megami Tensei IV pre-orders. I think a +150k opening may be a lock.

Nice promotion in japanese stores too.

Sales should be good.

Same hiska who posted here?

Found this on GAF: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=18043866&postcount=41

Sales are first week / LTD. Also, SMT: Strange Journey sold 97,221 units first week in MC. Some more recent Atlus games are missing like P4G which sold ~137k first week. Pretty sure none sold 150-160k like SMT IV will probably sell.

It looks like SMT IV will be in the upper echelon of sales. It'll probably be a bit below Nocturne and Persona 4 FW but it has a chance to outsell Nocturne in LTD. Nocturne looks like it dropped off pretty fast. Btw, Nocturne Maniax is an updated version of Nocturne. That's actually the version we got in NA/EU.

SMT IV probably won't reach P4 (or Catherine?) but that's it for recent games. I believe one of the Persona 2 games and Soul Hackers on Saturn sold like 290-300k+ LTD but that was a long time ago. No idea how SMT I or II sold. Factoring in just the recent SMT RPG games, SMT IV will be just below Persona 4 most likely.

@outlaw

Yes.

I see. Really should get this so I know what I'm getting into for the crossover.

Perhaps there are people like me out there that might boost the sales up a bit.

@outlaw

Yes.

Did he provide any source for it? He was Japanese, but still a troll.

No source. His post was here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=58247790&postcount=519

@otaku

Yeah some new people will definitely get in the series with SMT IV. I'm hoping they go back and play the previously released ones too. Nocturne came out 10 years ago and doesn't feel very dated at all.

Oh, he was quoting retailer blogs. That's not bad, I thought he was using anecdotal evidence. My apologies to hiska if/when you read.

troll? What? I always use data to provide my posts.

The sources are Azalyn, sinobi, yosipooh, and oosakaking. All of them report SMTIV as the top of pre-orders for this week.

Hmm no updates yet. Either late or they skipped a day. Hopefully not of a full week like last time!

Maybe Pokemon/MH4 went up for pre-order and got so many it broke the system!
