I don't really know why you would count the Special Edition as two copies though. I get that it includes both versions but it's really the same game. Sure it costs more than a single version but so does the limited edition of games in general and those aren't worth more units. It's like saying the KanColle limited edition is worth two points because it's twice the price..

Nothing to do with the price, Special Edition is Both 1 copy of Black + White Kingdom.

Your KanColle Example is bad, Its more like ORAS or Soul Sacrifice Special Edition which each being sold as 2 copies (ORAS= 1copy for OR and 1copy for AS while SS was 2copies for the Double Pack).

If They count as 1 game then the entire count for Black/White Version each goes out the Window as games are being sold separate for both retail/eShop! Also for DLC your buying 1 game into another so again that doesn't count?

Example for easier understanding (or at least my complicated answer lol)

You (Boutros) buy 1 copy of each retail, means it sold 2 copies sold correct? (1White/1Black)

If yes, then why does my purchase of White Kingdom Retail then buying Black as Cheaper Game count only as 1 game, yet we bought the same exact thing, difference only being you spent more money?

Here's why it's all about the price.

What if I say that the Special Edition of Fire Emblem If is the regular edition and is worth 1 point and that they cut the content in half and sold them separately in two different versions (White and Black) and those should then be worth 0.5 point? I'm sure you'd bring in the price and you'd be right to do so which is why it's actually all about the price.

So my point isn't that there aren't two copies included in the Special Edition but that the Special Edition of FE isn't any different than any other limited editions which aren't worth more points even if they are twice the price.

Wikipedia says Golden Week ends May 5th.

GW is weird, i thought i heard Hiska say its not an entire week but rather Wed with May 2nd-4th? Something weird like that!

Yeah on Wikipedia it says April 29, May 3-5. I don't even know how that works.

Famitsu and MC are publishing numbers on May 8th, so seems they're taking 6th off.

They can't even be bothered to publish XCX numbers on my birthday?

Not going to lie, you kinda lost me there O.o

Are you just saying because the limited edition of FE is in 1 package it counts as 1 game only?

Because if you are how are they counting sales for Digital if bought with retail copy? Since its essentially in 1 game (cartridge)

Whats funny about al of this (FE IF) is that thats the worse case scenario in terms of sales atm. (my post with Out)

Lets say a third of everybody buying a copy is buying Digital too (Because we all Know Digital #s are going to be Huge in this game), It could look something like this atm (which is actually more realistic)

[Numbers Coincide with Pre orders of COMG]

~20 People buying Special Edition (20 sales for Each White Kingdom + Black Kingdom)

~Out of The 30 White Kingdom Consumers, 10 of them are buying Black Version Retail as well

~That Leaves 12 Black Version and 20 White Version Consumers buying just 1 retail game.

~Out of each of those above 1/3rd buy the Alternate Version Digitally for Cheap. So 4 White Version Sales and 6 Black Version Sales.

-Lastly Digital only buyers which i wont include!

Overall That Leaves on COMG 100+ Sales at the moment. Which Awakening in 6 weeks time had 20 pre orders. Even if you were tocut that in half, IF is significantly destroying Awakening. I think FW will be notably different, but wont have the legs like Awakening.

If FE right now Point Ratio is a mere 1p=500sales then we are looking at already close to 50k in pre orders with a good 15%-40% of those going to buy the other version digitally :0

I'm not thinking this is going to be the case....

That ratio would be unheard of for a full retail game in Japan.

There is a reason why im saying FE will do that. I normally agree esspecially with Games doing about 5% digitally with a full retail release game, but this case will be different. Its because of the price many sales will come from Digital.

If the game sells lets say 200k FW (combined), im going to bet over 50k-75k is Digital on top of that.

There are just some games that will benefit from digital, this game is one of the best in terms of such a situation imo. Of course im excluding Special Edition because there is no need to buy digital

Golden Week Information

In 2015, the weekends are placed in a way to create an isolated holiday during the first half and a five-day holiday period in the second half of the Golden Week. Travel activity is anticipated to peak on May 2 with people leaving the large urban centers and on May 5 and 6 in the opposite direction.

Note that thursday 30th of April and Friday 1st of May aren't national holidays. Some offices take these days off too (and becomes a Golden Week), but some others don't.

Real national holidays are 29th, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. The Golden Week effect (software holds and increases) will be next week, not this current one.

More information here (detailed holidays):

Both Media Create & Famitsu counted the Soul Sacrifice double pack as 1 sale per double pack sold (i.e. numbers weren't doubled because there were two copies as part of the package).

Pokemon games (and Youkai Watch games) are literally sold as two different titles, that you can pick up separately on shelves.

So those are two completely different examples.  Fire Emblem Special Edition is the first one, not the second one; but the individual editions are the second one, rather than the first one.
