The game was published by Tecmo-Koei only in Japan and those numbers are known by everybody, the publishing was handled by Nintendo for Europe and America, so only Nintendo should be able to publish those numbers, the only thing TK can say is that the numbers are good.

Koei are geniuses at making money, compared to many of the bigger japanese companies. Heck they milk the warriors franchise hard and it still works. Then they release new ips and they are received well.
