To be fair, we had Ni No Kuni last year. I do agree with you that I'd love to see Level-5 return properly to consoles tool, but the returns they get on handhelds must be a lot better for them. They tend to sell gangbusters once they've found their hit and production values are middling-to-low. |
Level 5 need a big publisher behind them to make awesome console games, just look at Ni No Kuni (Bamco) or Dragon Quest VIII (SQEX). Who do you think should go to them for a PS4 game??

Your wrong about Ni No Kuni ...
Nacmo only handled the localization for western territories so the only they own is the English translation and Level-5 being the original publisher was the one to have funded the game themselves.
That being said Level-5 can probably look to Sony for funding since they have a pretty extensive history of funding Level-5 developed IP's like Dark Cloud or Rogue Galaxy but after having experiencing bad taste with White Knight Chronicles, I think Sony has become more wary of funding Level-5 ...

Hah didnt know that, although tbh I think its kind of common for smaller devs to self publish and then look elsewhere for localisations. Sony should go back to them though, WKC may not have been great but they did make Dark Cloud and Chronicle and Rogue Galaxy for them in the PS2 days. And we know that the talent isnt gone, just look at Ni No Kuni. I guess they can just be a little hit and miss.

I agree that Sony should give Level-5 another chance ...

It's on par with MK8.
MK8 - 17th April/42 days before release = 49 points
SSBWii U = 17+32 = 49 points
