So about that Smash bet...

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Congrats on winning that bet, Clyde. And congrats to Smash. And either Japan needs to learn what good games look like or Nintendo needs to seriously start advertising things that aren't Mario Kart and Smash Bros.

Yeah many great games don't sell in Japan, while something with as terrible core mechanics as Monster Hunter sells like hot cakes.

Tagging.

I don't think those are terrible, the gameplay is solid, even though I hate those games, I gave it a try and they definitely not for me (or you as per your post) but they are not terrible.

The gameplay itself is not terrible, even though it has too much grinding, but the controls are terrible. They are bad enough to make the game unplayable, but still people in Japan buy them in droves. Probably because they love artificially lengthened games like Monster Hunter

Whether you agree with me or not its well known that MH controls are absolute crap.

I played it on Wii using my Pro Controller, It was not that bad to control, certanly not unplayable, but i did not liked many other things about the game. I too think is a shame that the industry focuses a lot in a few mega-blockbusters and ignore a few small gems that deserve better sales, at least to allow them to produce a sequel. For example I don't think Fatal Frame will recover its budget and I would like it to make it to my continent. Bayonetta 2 looks like a pretty good sequel and the sales are going to be very poor based on the pre-order numbers, maybe around 30k - 40k

Have you played any other hunting games? MH is soooooo far behind in the gameplay department it isn't close. Outdated mechanics and design choices have pushed it to the bottom of the pile for me.
