About the blog thing, first of all, let me remind you that what i said was the sub 300k predictions were a nonsense. I wasn't talking about which number is closer to the final number.

Secondly, was the blog wrong? Maybe, or maybe not xD

what the blog said was that Mario Kart 8 sellthrough was 50-60%, and first week could go to 400k. When Road (and me) read that, we assumed he was talking about FW sales. But, what if he wasn't talking about sales, and they were shipments? The word "sales" never was there, and since he shares sellthrough, it could've been the shipment.

Media Create already shared the sellthrough for Mario Kart 8.

If you want more proves I can share what the blog said when Disney Magic Castle was released. He said:

That means, shipments for Disney surpass easily the 200k mark. First day sellthrough is 30%. That means around 60k first day. Actual first week sales (media create):

You know that this kind of games sell well during the weekend and to double their first day sales. Unfortunately, that week Media Create didn't share sellthrough, but dengeki did. It was 215k, what the blog said.

I can show you more examples if you want. The blog said Ace Attorney 5 was selling at the same pace than the 4th entry did and a 250k opening was expected (it happened). The blog said The Wonderful 101 will sell just 5k (it happened). Persona 4 the golden 130k first week (137k), etc etc...

You can choose not believe it, but the truth is that blog is a subscriber of Media Create, a reliable source.

btw, this week he's saying Persona Q sold 60% of the shipment in its first day. And he heard it seems a great volume.
