Does the Ratchet IP belong to Sony or Insomniac?

Sony.

So after Fuse looks like they're going to have to go back to Sony and start making more Ratchet then.

Ok, so I guess Insomniac would be the ones to continue working on any Ratchet game, at least for the foresseable future, right?

I wonder what studio, in the event of a Sony/Insomniac rift, would be in charge of the IP.

My god I feel so sorry for these guys.

Fuse is going to bomb so hard it ain't even funny.

^ This.

The game looks cool but it's nothing that looks like will sell even decent numbers. Unless the reviews of the game are extremely good (talking about 90+ metacritic), then this will most likely not going to meet expectations.

Shut up Ted and make Resistance 4.

They contracted in High Impact Games to make the PSP versions.  If Sony wanted to continue it, I'm sure they could find someone - perhaps like Sanzaru Games; Idol Minds; Mass Media Inc.

We'll have to see what plays out about this Insomniac/Sony rift though.  I don't think there's anything substantial there; and Insomniac may end up needing Sony if Fuse doesn't end up being the future of their studio (which is looking really unlikely).

Jesus.

4weeks till launch lolz. Having EA as a publisher might have not been the greatest of ideas.

The biggest disaster for them is that the "EA Partners" programme that they are working with to publish it under seems to have been abolished recently.

So although Insomniac are going to retain the IP themselves as part of the deal, they're going to have their work cut out finding a new publisher to continue the series unless it sells gangbusters.  Although there was probably no chance of that with EA either.

A pretty ill-fated venture for both sides unless it ends up surprising everyone with decent sales.

I actually feel bad about what's happening with Fuse. It's such a shame that they were (probably) forced to change the direction of the game (originally Overstrike) and then because of this they received a ton of backlash which lead to people not caring for the game anymore.

Compare the likes and dislikes:

Fuse - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijlVoaa1uqM
Overstrike - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQfUMw5KJ0Q

That comment on the second video: "I can't wait for you to somehow try to blame this on homophobia and sexism"

lol xD

I loved Ratchet & Clank TOD and ACIT, so I wonder if we´ll get a new Ratchet for the PS4.

He's very coy about Ratchet PS4.  He was asked whether they would have a game coming out the same time as the movie and said:

"We're hoping that, regardless of the games that come out at the same time, the movie stands on its own. The Ratchet universe has expanded quite a bit since we started and it's given us lots of material to draw on.

I suspect it's probably very likely.  Unless Fuse takes off more than anyone expects, it's not like they have any other blockbuster franchises to fall back on.

A crack in time was phenomenal, and I want another r&C like that, so hopefully Sony can hire them for that :D
