I recently bought a super slim ps3, so no I don't need BC.

No, on new system, I barely played older games from the past gen. I can count the number of times I did that on one hand. So an extra $50-100, I would rather invest in a new ps4 game.

Yeah just cause I don't want to take up an HDMI and make room for PS3. It's not the skinniest console and I don't trust Gaikai yet especially for PS3 games. It just makes things more jumbled on the entertainment center and since Sony has such amazing legacy support and these games are so timeless for me (I go back and play Uncharted, Infamous, GoW, Ratchet, Jak HD, Sly HD and 4, Journey, Resistance 3, and Batman at least once a year and for some of them much more often). I know I'll be playing PS3 games a lot so I guess it'll be a 2 console center for the foreseeable future.

Yes but the amount depends on the console's price. That said, I'm willing but definitely not capable of paying extra. I doubt I'll be able to buy the console in the first place, let alone pay some extra for it.

PS2 BC came in handy to me when I bought my PS3, as I didn't have a PS2 before and well there was a PS3 game drought at launch anyway, so I bought and played the most interesting PS2 games

I won't need PS3 BC in a PS4, as I already have a PS3

btw, a "PS3 BC add on" would have to include the Cell, probably the RSX and the XDR and GDDR3 ram .. I doubt you can manufacture something like this for only "$50-100", as production for all of those items is being phased out and hence is becoming more expensive

I only tend to play a game once so I don't think BC is necessary with the PS4, if I did want to play a PS3 game ill turn on my PS3 and play it on that but that's just my personal preference.

I would pay more.

Yes. I'd pay about $50 extra.

I've had a shit ton of consoles, but I haven't used BC for more than a few hours tops. And that's only in the beginning of a gen so that I feel fancy even though I have the old console right there.

It's quite useless tbh.

But still, I'd probably end up paying extra for a bc console if the option was there.

I do think it's smarter for them to not bother too much.

Sure if it was standard with the system. But that's not going to happen so no.
