The Wii U, Wii, PS3, XB360, XB, DS, PSP, PSV, 3DS, etc. all are casual consoles. They all have casual games. They all have a casual audience. Does this mean that they can't (necessarily) be Hardcore consoles too? No.

I don't think any Nintendo handheld has ever been casual lol. Hell I don't think any portable ever is and here is my simple reasoning:

You are literally buying a dedicated gaming device so you can play video games anywhere you go, YOU CALL THAT SHIT CASUAL?!?!?!?! People with their faulty logic might think so, I guess.

No Nintendo console is 'casual'

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.
