Forums - Gaming - EA: Crysis 3 and Dead Space 3 did not meet expectations

Both of those games were just more of the same. It obvious they would sell worse

The sales of both games are awful. Barely over 1Mil each on all platforms combined. Serves them right for alienating their fanbases....

Here, this little info says it all... from: http://seekingalpha.com/article/1412391-electronic-arts-management-discusses-q4-2013-results-earnings-call-transcript?page=1

What we've done is we've gone through a very detailed process to eliminate expenses associated with products that either aren't growing or aren't large enough or aren't on platforms that we feel are long-term viable in the industry.

Products that aren´t growing, aren´t large enough...that´s Dead Space all right.

So that is suppossed to mean that the first two are not good and valued? The series never was set up to go on forever based of the first one. With or without further interations one dud does not make everything terrible. Otherwise every franchise going longer than one game is usually terrible because they all got bad versions.

I still think they're both good games like 7.5 (DS3)-6.5(Crysis) good. But they're both dissapointing imo, the worst in each trilogy.

Dead Space 3 was hampered by the universal ammo. The lack of horror wasn't even particularly bothersome, as I felt DS needed a change of pace (not necessarily action, but space exploration, bioshock-ish ness which the first half sort of did). However the gameplay had balance issues. The co-op wasn't as good as resident evil or Left 4 dead either. The crafting system was awesome though.

Crysis 3 was short, and the ai was incredibly dumb. It's a good short game, with better mechanics than people give it credit for but its still just a "good" game imo.

They didn't live up to my expectations either.

I feel bad for the Star Wars franchise of games.

Crysis games are boring. I only played Crysis 2 but it was terrible.
