Because EA has a history of not trying to sabotage and destroy consoles just to satisfy their overblown egos?

Don't know what you're talking about. Whatever examples you bring up, management has changed over history and we're talking about EA's decision now.

How many hours did you spend analyzing whether it would be a good business decision to port over games to the WiiU? What's the breakup of the WiiU's owners? What do you project their lifetime sales to be? How much will porting the games cost? What are the margins going to be?

You have absolutely no fucking idea whether or not EA made a good business decision or not, let alone if they even made a business decision. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

There is a fair bit of research suggesting that the threshold for profitability on a quick port is quite low. Now, EA hasn't been hitting their targets, but they certainly could with a second round of Wii U software if they had shown that they at all gave a damn about Wii U owners with the first. And with a userbase cultivated, they could then have at least an easy port-box for the next five years.

Instead, due to their severe butthurt, they cripple themselves.

Again, how many hours did you spend to research whether a specific game would be profitable porting over?

And let's say you did all the research to determine if it would be profitable to port over the game to the WiiU. You still have no proof that they did their own research and came to a different conclusion.

People shouldn't assume that EA is a human that acts out of emotion like them. EA is an organization that works to make money for its shareholders. And given the state EA is in right now, management has its balls in the shareholder's hands. They're not going to pass up an easy buck just because it doesn't like the WiiU.

EA isn't a fucking fanboy. It's a company.

EA has a long history of fanboyism, although you seem determined to disregard it for some reason.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Still waiting for proofs of this fanboyism that has been going on for years, the admittance of wanting Nintendo to not succeed and all the other hoopla I have read in this thread.

I need proof! :O

So easily we forget the Dreamcast, or Trip Hawkins famous anti-Nintendo stance. So easily we forget E3 2011.

Those who rationalize EA seem to have a very revisionist view of history.

Mass Effect 3 on Wii U is enough to you? $60 on Wii U and close to that Mass Effect Trilogy on PS360 for same price.

Nope, you still haven't shifted my opinion.

I just see a company that does not see the economic value of rebuilding their engines for (1) console and then on top of that having to incorporate special gaming options just to suit the gamepad, especially when recent history has shown them the WiiU to not be worth that kind of investment.

I like that much better than conspiracy theories and claims of an entire corporations board of execs and shareholders being Nintendo haters.

2K wanted $60 for Bioshock. EA wanted $60 for Mass Effect 2 and countless other companies wanted full price was well when games came late to PS3.

$60 compared to the trilogy, also at $60

EA's engines were already tailored for the PS360 and moving the games and engine(s) to PS4/720 is a non-issue since they are basic x86 setups. So (1) version of the engine supports PS360 while the other version supports PS4/720/PC.

WiiU on the other hand is custom hardware, so they do not see the worth for investing time and money into developing a new version of their engines for just (1) console.

That is the reality of the situation. It is not their jobs to make sure it runs on WiiU. It is their job to make money and judging by WiiU sales, the money won't be made there.

People hate to hear this, but it's the truth. Want those games? Buy a different console.

We've run over this one before. It's not about wanting the games, it's about wanting EA to man up and stop being a bunch of babies.

And EA's goal is to make money.

The problem here is that people are thinking that EA's decision was some kind of emotional decision, rather than giving them the doubt that EA made a business decision.

business decision, OK.

So tell me why Tiger Woods is not on Wii U? because the last time I check, the only games that sold better that Wii versions were the PS and PS2.
