come on sony this is fucked up. so we have to pay for a game that we dont know how good it will be on release to get the full game. even if its 30 minutes its still bullshit what you are doing.

the special edition is about 10 euro's more expensive... maybe i'll pre-order to get the the extra gameplay and laugh at you normal edition people who preordered and get nothing.. NOTHING! bwoehhahaha

This is a common practice. You also speak as if a cinematic gaming experience is a negative. It may be to you, but that doesn't not mean it is objectively not. The industry has continued pushing boundaries on this front for a reason and that reason is because it is compelling to a large audience. I'm not the biggest fan of it, and you seem to not care for it either, but that doesn't mean that there aren't people that don't appreciate it or that you're somehow "better" than those that prefer a less mechanically technical but more emotionally involving experience. If you want to use the argument that you're just giving your opinion of the game under discussion, this isn't the thread to do it as it isn't discussing the game itself, but pre-order bonuses. There are other threads for you to share your game based opinion in. What you're doing is then akin to derailment and would still require moderation intervention. Take your pick; Trolling or Derailing and Flaming? If you don't have all the facts I'd suggest shying away from making claims as you have in this thread. I'd also leave people to enjoy they things they do even if you don't particularly care for them. There is constructive negative criticism and then there is what you're doing. |
what don't you understand at the word personally. I personally think games which have more cutscenes then gameplay are boring to play. i respect other opinions, who cares, everybody should play what he has fun with, but i think it's a bit odd offering people more gameplay which are fully intergrated into the game only for people who have more money.
EDIT: and btw, this was a serious question, i didn't knew it out of my head which games offerd this services also. so i have no problem with correcting me.

isn't the problem more that you have to pre-order the "Special Edition" to get the extra gameplay? it's not pre-ordering the normal version but pre-ordering the more expensive "Special Edition" version is the only way to get those extra 30 mins gameplay.. (i'm just glad I didn't pre-order the normal version)

In that respect, I understand the complaint. However, I actually prefer it to Day-1 DLC (which is slightly different, since it involves an entirely different download process that could have been included on the disc). |
thinking about this a bit more I prefer Day 1 DLC above this cause it keeps the option open for everyone to get it.. sure it will probably pop up in the PSN store someday but this is really limiting the means to get this 30 min of gameplay by making it "Preorder Special Edition" only..

Not talking about this anymore after this, but you obviously haven't read up much on Beyond because the devs have already stated that the game will not really be anything like Heavy Rain and that there will be more action gameplay in this one. It's not gonna be the same QTE's as were in Heavy Rain. But, to each his own and let's move on.
OT: As long as the 30 minutes is not really essential to the story, then it's whatever because when they release something that could actually add a lot to the story then we have a problem.

For me, the question is how one determines what exactly "should have been included"
If it's an essential part of the story, obviously it should be, but what if it's something that enhances or compliments the story? I feel like the practice is acceptable as long as I could still get a complete experience without the content. If that's not the case then I would agree with you though
