Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Analyze This: Should There Be A 'Wii Seal of Quality'?

Yes they should have a Seal of Quality to stop the bad ports and games to be flooding the shelves.

Of course they shouldn't have a seal of quality - the consumers will allow that to happen by themselves and it's already happening.

Shovelware are not becoming the million sellers and more and more large franchises are getting announced for the Wii constantly, as this happens TP's will get more confidence in the Wii and put more effort into it then standards will rise, leaving shovelware to have a little place in the Wii's line up - that is in mainly supermarkets at a discount price.  This is what Kasz216 is saying as there is clearly a demograph of young childrens mothers that go shopping and see these games week after week and eventually are warmed to the idea of a Wii when Xmas or birthday arrives as they know not only is the console the cheapest but they can pick up cheap games for it to keep them happy.

My Wifes boss done exactly this for her four kids for that reason.

As for Pachters suggestion of removing Wii Sports from the Wii's bundle - this is why he gets paid for advice and not implementing solutions, did people only buy the Wii for Wii Sports has got to be the biggest debate this gen has seen and the combination of Wii + Sports is clearly working so if it's not broke dont fix it.

Wii Sports has clearly paid for itself now so another way of looking at it is they are giving it away free now rather than we can milk an Extra x amount of each consumer as they buy a Wii, after all we all suspect some point in 09 (maybe even 10) we'll probably get Wii Sports 2 anyway as this is a big franchise for Nintendo on the Wii now so by the time he's talking about unbundling it - would it have that long of a sales life left?
