Forums - PC - What are your specs (Mid-Enthusiast Rig owners, mainly)?

Hello, long time no see for me. A new gen arrives and I come back to vgchartz

Well, I'm in need of your help or recommendations for upgrade my PC. I've been playing(and upgrading) mostly on my PC since I finished all my Wii games. First I my specs:

Case: Thermaltake Commander Mid Tower-----Cheap buy but a great case 25$(last one)
PSU: Sentey SolidPower 850W-----Cheap buy too but I'm very pleased
CPU: Intel i3 540------Needs upgrade but can play almost all games on Max except the CPU heavy games(Crysis 3, PlanetSide 2, Skyrim...)
Mobo: Foxconn H55-M------Needs upgrade too
RAM: Generic Kingston 4 GB 1066-1333(Cant remember)------Ok so far, maybe needs a kick too
HDD: 1 TB Western digital+500 gb Seagate(cant remember speed but its a cheap one)
GPU: ASUS 7950 DCUIITOP + Accelero Xtreme 7970------I trade my old 6950 for this card but it had bad contact on the heatsink(and overheated very easy) so I buyed the aftermarked cooler and now its runs like a charm, best trade of my life so far

Ok, so here's my upgrade plan. I play at 1080p and do bitcoin mining, so far CPU heavy games are the only weakness. I bought a second 7950(sapphire boost 300$) to do mining and hopefully crossfire with a good CPU.

Options so far:I have around 300$, mobo needs to be Xfire compatible(is 16x,16x or 8x,8x worth the extra $$$ over the 16x,4x Xfire?)

1)FX 6300 CPU+ 970 Mobo+ SSD 64 gb

2)I5 3330+ H77 or B75 Mobo+ Good RAM?(4 gb 1600 or 8 gb 1333 Mhz?)

3)I5 3570k+H77 or B75(Z77 maybe)+ Cooler

4) Buy 2 HD 7850(or 1 HD 7950) and put them to mine! or 1 HD 7850(for mining and sell it later)+ 128 SSD

Thanks in advance

I think your current choices would do you some good.

Thanks, but which one do you think is the way to go?

I see a few here that have 27" or even 30" monitors. I have a question for them: how far do you sit from those monsters?

I mean, I have a 23" monitor and I'm perfectly fine with it at rougly 1.5-2 feet from me. I could even go with a 24" but I find monitors bigger than that to be too big for me.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

About arms length mostly. :)
My 2 side screeens are just for peripheral vision mostly.

However, like TV's... Once you go big you get used to the size then you want something larger. :p - Feel free to take that out of context.

Well, I went from a 19" 5:4 to the 23" 16:9 and I needed some time to get used to something so large (you can also take it as you want), but more than that...

It's not for the wide though, but for how tall they are. I would need to move my eyes a lot more just to see the whole screen.

Please excuse my bad English.

~11 TB of storage over 6 conventional hard drives

Damn, that's even more than I have! Is it all games?

1.5 TB of are games, patches and mods. A lot of it is actually backups of my relatives' computers. That way they don't have to worry about losing their stuff in case their machine's go down or need to be reformatted. All their docs, music and pictures and what not are all backed up on my machine. The rest of it is my development work and lots of dev resources and stuff that I play around with (different tools and engine demos and such).

11TB and NO PORN?????
