Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 720 is going to be killer.

Never could understand why people liked this one so much. I bought it, and it bore me to death half way through the game. Lost Odyssey is a much better title in my book.

Thankfully, there's no rule applied to tastes. =P

Tales of games aren't for everyone. I can understand why you don't like it. And I can think of a lot of things that were worse in Lost Odyssey against this one (Don't mistake me, I prefer Lost Odyssey). But hey, tastes are tastes. I do think these two are two gems of the seventh generation.

Oh right! So 3 good games (Since there are 2 Viva Pinyata's) in a decade.

Anyway, no point in arguing, 720 will still sell well, even if PS4 has more and better exclusives because they will share 90% of multiplatform titles. However I've just learned that MS platforms are 3rd tier for me (After Nintendo and Sony), since their exclusives are just not as good IMO, and they rely too much on Halo.

While you and me think alike regarding the lack of support from MS this late, I do think they are still pretty relevant. They should focus more on retail rather than the XBLA, though, because XBLA has been pretty killer for some time now.

There are some japanese gems I would have missed without a 360 =P And I'm not referring (exclusively) to Lost Odyssey.

For the record, he's talking about this incredible gem.

That boxart is pretty horrible. Thank god the European version is waaaay better =P

Unfortunately, I wasn't referring to this one, because I'm so unlucky that I couldn't get my hands on this game when it came out, and only four units were brought where I live T_T I've tried Amazon, but to no success. Guess I'll never play this one.

Eh, the US box art appeals to me more.

I'm confused. You're in Spain based on your profile?

I looked the Amazon Spain website and I see copies there.

Also, it appears you can get a digital copy, http://marketplace.xbox.com/es-ES/Product/Tales-of-Vesperia/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8024e4d0805

That's the thing though. I greatly enjoyed Tales of Symphonia for the Gamecube... And I expected Vesperia to be better. And to me, it felt like a real quick no-soul and predictable cash-in by Namco. But I liked the art-style and the graphics, overall.

But Lost Odyssey is special. It's the JRPG of the generation for me.

No digital, thank you very much. I like to have my physical copies of games I have paid with my hard-earned money =P

I don't know what to say. I've looked into but the Amazon.es (yup, Spain) tend to get messed up when I'm searching for the game. I am considering Ebay, but alas, I've never tried purchasing something through internet :(

And for the record, here are some examples of what I said previously:

If I don't recall wrong, all of them Xbox360 exclusives, except for Deadly Premonition. Thanks to the fanbase and support Xbox 360 owners from the West gave to that game, they decided to released on the Ps3. Otherwise, they wouldn't have done it.

Apples and oranges.

If we're gonna compare everything to Lost Odyssey than most JRPGs suck. :-p

I love Tales of Vesperia, its staying in my permanent collection.

That's a shame. I'm not much very into Tales of Games, but I really want to play that one after years being hyped from a friend who owns all Tales of games known to man and have beaten all of them twice, 100% :( He says Vesperia is one of the best (Though it doesn't reach Symphonia).

Lost Odyssey...I would call it the second best JRPG of the generation. (Don't know the first one). Why? There was a horrible flaw in the combat design, and it was...the pace-breaking characters intros and victory fanfares, as well as common spells lasting longer than a breaking-limit skill from Final Fantasy VII. Seriously, that game is a joy to watch sometimes, but when you are randomnly encountering monsters, you just want to finish them quickly and keep moving!

look what happened after they bought Rare, they got 1 good game, and it was a remake (Conker: Live and Reloaded).

Banjo N&B and Kinect Sports were good too!

Who has the better exclusives is subjective and not worth discussing.

MS relies too much on Halo? I'd argue they do a great job supporting a very popular IP.

I beg to differ, and I feel Halo isn't what it used to be. Halo 1-3 were excellent, and I loved Reach, but I can't stand 4.

Oh I agree, but those gems are few and far between. Plus the competition has more, and better Japanese gems, so even then MS is 3rd tier.

Mr Puggsly said:

Mass Effect 2 was also an exclusive for a period of time. So the series lost exclusivity after two releases.

Few exclusive IPs were produced? Gears of War, Crackdown, Alan Wake, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Ninja Blade, Kameo, Ninety-Nine Nights, Viva Pinata, Too Human, Kinect Adventures, Kinect Sports, Kinectimals, Kinect Joyride, and Dance Central. A noteworthy exclusive that didn't come to PS3, Left 4 Dead. I don't think MS broke any records, but that's not very few exclusives. Think before you spew bullshit.

What you consider good from Rare is subjective. If those same games Rare released on MS platforms were released on NIntendo platforms, those same games would have more fans.

Out of all those exclusives you mentioned, what isn't shovelware, and what can 100% of 360 owners buy? Not much huh? And timed exclusives don't count.

Plus if you really want to be technical, a third of the games left aren't exclusive, they are available on PC.

There are 5 or 6 worthwhile exclusive new IP's by Microsoft, but there are over a dozen crap ones, so being excited for the 720 because of 2 new IP's is a bit silly given the typical quality of their exclusives.

I think, of the big 3, you can only really look forward to a new IP by Nintendo because yes they are rare (rarer then MS new IP's), but they are almost always excellent, or at least good (In the case of Pandora's Tower).

Well there are options if you want to experience Tales of Vesperia.

Deadly Premonition as a game was boring as fuck, but for some reason I loved that game so much. If the PS3 version actually addressed problems that made the gameplay boring I would buy it again.

Well, I'm up for a round of cybersex if that's good enough for you to send me your copy.

I don't care much for DeathSmiles and Akai Katana. They look like they could be arcade games.

However I loved Lost Odyssey and Tales of Vesperia (from what I've played).

When we talk about weather or not Microsoft is relevant, of course they are, without them we would have never seen Lost Odyssey, but also without them we would likely have seen Tales of Vesperia go to the PS3 (and be localized here).

Not to rip on MS too much, they have produced some good games, it's just they aren't consistant. Some years we'll see many many great exclusives release, others we'll get didly squat, or a sequel to an oversaturated franchise.

I just don't see why people are hyped about the 720, when PS4 and Wii U look morei nteresting IMO. Ryse is a Kinect game, and we have yet to see one good Kinect game (except for maybe Dance Central), and there is a good chance that an exclusive by Respawn will go multiplatform, just like GTA IV DLC did.

What we do know about the 360, don't exactly scream spend $500 for me yet...we've all played Halo, Gears, and Forza, and it's not like we need to play the newest iteration.
