The Wii U has little to no chances of "selling well"?

No Wii Sports, no Wii Play, no Wii Fit, no 3D Mario, no Zelda, no Metroid, no Super Smash Bros., no Mario Party, no Animal Crossing and not even a Mario Kart title has arrived yet. And you are already certain that the Wii U has low chances of selling well?

That's nice, I guess.

I mean, if well means N64 numbers then it's possible. That's why I wrote "well" with quote marks. It's not like those franchises made the N64 or GC sell gangbusters. The Wii series is an uncertainty but we'll see.

And Vita also has chances of selling N64 numbers anyway.

What it comes down to is that we should stop fighting about these two beacuse they're both a disaster. Vita is a disaster. WiiU is a disaster.

It's too early to tell for Wii U. PSVita is on the market for quite some time and hasn't improved in sales, and no system sellers are announced. Wii U is a new console and new consoles almost ALWAYS struggle in their first year. Are you forgetting the games that are coming for it? SSB4, Mario Kart, Super Mario, Zelda? Did you already forget how those games made the 3DS the best selling handheld?

I'd also like to comment on the 'lack' of games situation for Wii U (on which you are probably basing its doom-future). Many Wii U owners are constantly playing on their Wii U (go read some Wii U forums). With the Wii it was a whole another situation; many Wii's collected dust. The people who own a Wii U play on it regularly and those who don't have a Wii U are saying it has a lack of games.

Well, my thread about "stop arguing about similar, shitty sales" became "sales for my console will one day become a bit less shitty".

Actually, I think WiiU's HW concept is flawed from the beginning and hard to market, not just the games. WiiU will have higher profile games than Vita no doubt.

I'm not saying WiiU won't sell more than Vita. I'm saying sales are going to be relatively bad anyway and none are gonna be a "success". And that we should therefore stop arguing about this.

Now you're at it again. You're calling the Wii U a disaster despite the lack of the aforementioned games. I'd certainly agree if you called the Wii U's launch a disaster, but you can't go beyond that at this point. Heck, to some degree same goes for the Vita as well: Grand Theft Auto, a new Monster Hunter and a proper Call of Duty title may do wonders for the system.

Fact remains though that the Vita is facing a much worse situation. Handhelds are expected to end up with a much lower software tie ratio. Selling on par with Wii U hardware-wise is not a good sign for the system. And ending up selling N64 numbers would be a disaster for a handheld.

Both aren´t doomed, they are fantastic systems that just need more time/games to establish themselves in the market. The Wii U will do this with the usual suspects (3D Mario, Mario Kart) the Vita....I don´t know, but Sony will get it´s shit together. Let´s not forget that both companies "don´t need" these systems to do amazing:
Nintendo could play 6th Generation and get most of their revenue through the handheld market and it is pretty likely that the PS4 will do well, or at the verly least okay !

You're struggling to find a grounds of equality when it's quite obvious which is more doomed.

(Hint: It isn't the WiiU)

No seriously. Their situations are pretty different.

See? That's what's laughable. So who cares which is "more doomed"?

They both seem pretty doomed to me.

Their numbers are very similar.

Vita in its 5th month (April 2012): 207.880
WiiU in its 5th month (March 2013): 207.861

I know Nintendo product do better in the holidays but even so, it will be a pathetic victory.

Agreed, both are selling bad and are in similar boat. Vita just received a Japanese price cut and Wii U is selling well below its marked price in most countries, yet both aren't setting the charts on fire.
Although no doubt spin doctors will say otherwise, sad indeed.

Both are disasters. You can't say "if it had games it wouldn't be a disaster". If the games aren't out it's a disaster. We'll see when the games release, but let's be honest, the WiiU is selling much worse than, say, the PS3 ever was, and that needed loads of price cuts and SW to correct, more than WiiU is getting with it's current prices and 3rd party support.

REGARDLESS, I'm not here to discuss whether WiiU will outsell Vita. It may well happen. It's a failure for Nintendo as Vita is a failure for Sony. All else is just speculation about what might happen in the future.

I find it funny that people argue about failing consoles. Can we stop arguing about this?

Wow at the reactions from some Nintendo fans.
