Who will announce the price of their next-gen console first?

Sony 30 41.10%

Microsoft 43 58.90%

Total:73

The PS4 and 720 are supposed to be close in spec, close in cost and close in launch date. Surely whoever announces the price first is at a disadvantage, as the other can undercut by a small amount and have the cheaper console. But someone has to break the news first, who will it be?

Well, if the rumors follow at all I think it will be Microsoft, and if they follow with a $299 + 2 year Xbox live at $10/month it will be tough for Sony. Microsoft has enough cash on hand that they would not have to borrow the money to cover their customers.

But that would be only with one Controller. I think Sony will offer less expensive comparable bundles.

But I don't really think we will see a price till closer to launch. Wasn't it July that we found out about the price of the Kinect in 2010?

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Tell me a funny joke!

Would Sony not be able to copy the subscription with PS+? Also, what do you mean by less expensive comparable bundles? Are their controllers cheaper?

most likely at E3 and since M$ goes first they will

I'm going to go with MS.

Nintendo did. Other than that the one who has the presentation first.

Tbh If I would be MS I would price the system so low that sony would essentially die. Microsoft has the money to do it and Sony actually exists because Microsofts "allows" it lol.

Sell the thing for 1 cent profit so there cant be anyone that sues Microsoft for having unfair business practices. And Sony who cant afford to do the same will struggle.

M$ will be play the waiting game and let Sony play their card first. M$ is in the driver seat right now so they are in no rush.

It really weird to see some other company out muscle Sony. Remember when Sony came in the gaming they were the top dog with the unlimited bank roll.

It's more a question of, who will announce the loss they're going to take? rather than price, because both systems can't be less than $400 but $400 is a suicidal price to launch at.

Sony really really doesn't want to lose money per unit (no PSV price drops despite worst sales situation imaginable) and seems to be further ahead in schedule than Microsoft. So I think they'll announce first, at E3, $400.

Then MS will follow up a month after E3 with $350.

Expecting Sony to announce 1st and M$ to go "Ok cool" and undercut by $50.

Predicting 449-499 models.
