She loves it actually. We have an ongoing competition for the Galaga high score (I just beat her score today)

great job, should be able to do a pc and emulate all kinds of stuff going forward.

I've always wanted to build one. Did you get plans off the net for the peices?

@Superchunk, yeah its all set up. We are having a "launch party" Friday. Tournaments, etc

@darkknightkryta: I did. This project is about 7 years in the making and the site from which I got the plans is now down, but fortunately I had the foresight to save all of the relevant pages in mhtml in case such a thing happened

I still have some mods I need to make. I made it so the control panel is removable, so I want to build a driving set of controls, and I would like to add 2 light guns as well. But those things can wait.

So where would you go to get the plans printed?

Looks awesome!! Good job!

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

Throw mame in it, followed by zsnes or snes9x then a few othe emulators and you got the best game cabinet ever. Already done it myself ;) And made over 2000 customs game icons for my menu :D

Bill Gates had Mac prototypes to work from, and he was known to be obsessed with trying to make Windows as good as SAND (Steve's Amazing New Device), as a Microsoft exec named it. It was the Mac that Microsoft took for its blueprint on how to make a GUI.

This site has the same plans that I used, except I used a modification that cut the bottom in for leg room and I had to change the control panel cuts to work the way I wanted
