In all my years of gaming I have never seen the internet so collectively get together to degrade a console that we litteraly know nothing about. It doesn't even make sense.
I see thread after thread and countless "news articles" doing nothing but bash a console that has never been shown, whose features have never been announced, and whose games we've never seen.
I would understand it if the console had been announced already and people didn't like what was shown, but this is completely different. And if MS delivers an incredible conference on May 21st with amazing games there is going to be some serious humble pie being dished out. I don't even know if the Next Xbox will be my primary console next gen as some of the rumors do look unappealing to me but let's wait and see what they show first.

When Orthy ends up cheerleading always on, and bashes people for that not to be an option, and about everything that was shown is horrible, and specs leaked don't show themselves to be better than the PS4, why do you think the reaction isn't going to be negative? As of now, outside of that really cool projector thing to the walls (which I personally don't have use for) exactly WHAT is being shown that makes the next Microsoft console a better choice than the PS4? Is guaraanteed paying for online play an awesome feature?
If you don't want bashing, get information out there. Otherwise, you get what is leaked, which is 8GB of slower RAM than the PS4, always on, elimination of used games, and requirement to have Kinect scan you when playing. Think about it a minute here. What does it say, when I have an XBox bias, and find the PS4 approach superior?
No, the criticisms are complete justified. What Microsoft needs to do is show otherwise and dispel these criticisms.... Particularly to do something to get the videogame journalists to stop pushing the inane 720 name, that comes out of the movie Real Steel.

Your using old info. Both Vgleaks and Polygon have confirmed always online to play games is fake
Several recent reports have hinted at stronger than rumored hardware
Several reports such as Jeff Gurtsmen at Giant Bomb, Kotaku, amd multiple other sources have said MS have locked down major exclusives.
In other words people are only commenting on negatives. No one is talking about the mountain of positive rumors that are now flooding in the closer we get to the reveal

Ok, the reality is this: Videogame systems and their companies have people who are religiously devoted to them, and the guys who visit sites like this are the audience that buys stuff. In order to be able to get hits on sites, and sell advertising to pay the bills, sites post any sort of information they can find and rumors, to get people to care about their sites. The end result is that you get piles of rumors over and over, and commented and spun by people to get hits, and the console partisans who wanbt to spin things. If you want to make a comment that videogame journalism and the audience are a bunch of bullocks promoters, that is fine. But, it isn't out of line, considering the sheer lack of information Microsoft puts out there. So this isn't particularly bias against Microsoft, but the usual spin which comes about from Microsoft's approach. I mean, do you SERIOUSLY think that the next XBox console is going to be called "The XBox 720"? Well the ignored spin cycle for fanaticism, combined with these journalists, have ended up making 720 as a default name, shoved it down people's throats and then forum minions end up belching it out like it was truth. People even made the 360 logo blue to make it so. The basis? Well, a banner in Real Steel.
By the way, if your issue is not the emotional overreacting to lack of solid information, but the fact it is negative, look at what the Wii U is going through on forums like this. Of course, it can be argued it is justified regarding the Wii U. But people went all gaga over word they were dropping out of E3, which actually was not having a single press event to cover everything and some stuff that will be private. But, you then have Mr. Sessler end up throwing a tantrum of sorts over how Nintendo isn't pandering to him by doing an event for himself and others doijng what he does.
