Over the weekend and through yesterday there was rampant speculation that the update was coming Monday due to NOAs usage of a countdown for VC service. Well, apparently it seems that the countdown was actually for a release of the launch line-up for Wii U's Virtual Console service. Why the hell Nintendo thought that deserved a countdown when its obvious the users are far more interested in the actual release of the updates, is beyond me.

After the Nintendo Direct stated the update was coming "next week" (which is now this week) and VC would launch the day after, most of us, me included figured that meant a Wed/Thur update with VC being Thur/Fri. It appears our speculation was accurate.

If you pay attention to this network status page at Nintendo you'll notice their was a large update across all of eShop on Monday. Then there is another Wii U only eShop update happening on Thursday from 5pm to 7pm PDT.

No one should think that the update we all long for is going to happen before that scheduled Wii U eShop maintenance. Thus, it seems appropriate that the update will hit, at least NA Wii U, Thursday after 7pm PDT with the VC service coming Friday.

There is also rumors that the MiiVerse functionality for 3DS/smartphones/tablets will come this weekend as well.

Guess we'll know when we know because Nintendo is simply unwilling to actually provide dates for these things.

I don't care when the update comes, it will get here when it gets here, but now I am hoping for a Wednesday roll out so you will look like you don't know what you're talking about two days in a row.

I think Miiverse is coming out on smartphones before 3DS. They have been pretty silent on the 3DS version. Sure they announced Miiverse for 3DS before smartphones but it seems like they are too quiet on the 3DS version. I wonder how the load times will be on 3DS. Swapnote load times were terrible at first but now after update they are bearable.

lol.. ahh that's so funny. Yep already feeling that and hoping this time my hunch is right.

I guess it's not Nintendogical do stuff before the sabotaged fiscal earnings meeting. Leave everything for afterwards.

I'm not in a rush to have it or anything, but I honestly wonder what the holdup is on Miiverse on mobile devices. How hard is it to make an Android/iOS app? How hard could it be for Nintendo, one of the biggest software developers in the world, to make a simple app that connects mobile devices to an already-established network?
