The commercials themselves come off as goofy and forced, yeah, but the note about compensation and their being "actual Wii U owners" takes it to a whole new level. And not a higher one. :p

Beyond that...none of these do a good job of explaining WHY the GamePad adds so much to the experience. Or shows it very effectively. Say what you want about the Wii, but Nintendo didn't have either of those problems in making ads for that.

I think it shows just how hard it is to market that controller/tablet thing. It's just no where near as visual as the wiimote is where you can show people using the wiimote like a sword or a paintbrush or something. I think the closest they came in the advert was him holding it on it's side for some reason, but they never even showed what was on screen so I have no idea what he was doing.

These commercial will work, because they are targeted to the people that don't know anything about videogames. But again gamers think they need an special place in the TV? please gamers are getting the games, what else do you want?
Seriously, it will be a waste of money to make ads that are aimed to people that come everyday to this websites to know about gaming.

I don't think they need a marketing team at all. It doesn't take a team of people to figure out how to re-use the exact same strategy that sold 80 million consoles in 4 years.

Seriously, they should just bring back those commercials. Exact same music. Exact same "story." Just with new clips of playing Wii U. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

Exactly! I've said this numerous times already. Cammie got a lot of (imo undeserved hate) but it's obvious she was the one holding the company together. As soon as she left everything just crumbled.
