I'd say Revelations isn't that far off of Golden Abyss. Developers have really been underperforming on the Vita in my opinion, a lot of games aren't even maxing the resolution of the screen.

Fingers cross Killzone changes all of that though.

Really?  I mean, Revelations is a beautiful-looking game, no doubt, but I always thought Uncharted looked stunning from the videos I've seen of it.

However, I don't own either game so other people may be better informed on the subject than me :P.  Is there something in particular that Revelations does better than Golden Abyss?

From a layman's point of view, I always found WipEout 2048 the most visually impressive of the launch titles for Vita.

There's a video for that too.

Also I agree about wipeout.

Wait, so a CAPCOM game is the benchmark for graphics on 3DS?

I'm stunned.

Did I do something wrong?

Nah just shocked that a 3rd party has produced better graphics than most of 1st party tendo.

I should wait for Monolith soft.

Well, Nintendo 1st party devs don't tend to push for the title of graphics king, and the Resident Evil devs are very talented. I guess the realistic aesthetics of Revelations also makes it easier to compare to Uncharted.

Are Monolith currently developing a game for 3DS?

Actually the 3DS version on firmware 5.0.0-11 is at 6 fps with the 3D ON.

Do you have a source for that?

fixed that for you !

(I only played the Demo but I don´t believe that the full game is that much better, the Demo is pretty shitty )

What firmware?

And did you play the demo for at least 4 hours, because on the older firmware, I had to play the game for at least 4 hours for the frame rate problem to go away on firmware 4.5.0-10.

Really ?

I don´t have the full game, I only played the Demo (and played it for 30 minutes at most) but it seems a bit odd that the fps suddenly  increase to 60 frames ...

But Mario Kart 7 manages to run at 60 fps...doesn´t it ?

Yeah, everyone everywhere will confirm that Mario Kart 7 is 60 fps with the 3D ON, but you can't play the game without at least firmware 2.2.0

The first 1 hour of the rètail copy was horrible in Sonic Racing Transformed, like 30 fps aft the first track I played, but I kept playing the game and it started running more smoother as more I played.

I recently updated to the new firmware 5.0 and then they release 5.1, which is my current firmware, but even 5.0 seems to drastically improve performence.

Don't forget that Capcom had RE: R run on MT Framework engine, which Nintendo never does.
Plus 3D Land & Mario Kart 7 were rush for the first November of the 3DS for sales sake of the Hardware.

From a layman's point of view, I always found WipEout 2048 the most visually impressive of the launch titles for Vita.

I also found Uncharted to look great in videos too. On the Vita screen though, it seems really low-res and lacks anti-aliasing. Maybe it just looks disappointing because I've been spoilt with all those trailers of next-gen games recently.

EDIT: Oh, and I've only seen Revelations on video, so it might not look as great on the 3DS itself. And I agree, WipEout 2048 looks amazing, better than Uncharted I'd say.

The Vita's OLED screen is incredible. Games tend to look better on the Vita itself than they do in a trailer.(IMO)

Oh they do, but that doesn't factor in to the power of the system ;)

3DS Fifa 12 gameplay compared to Fifa 12 Vita Gameplay:

Off-screen record for Vita even so the 3DS seens so ungly compared to Vita version.

I want to see some exclusives comparision too like Uncharted for Vita .

I'd say Revelations isn't that far off of Golden Abyss. Developers have really been underperforming on the Vita in my opinion, a lot of games aren't even maxing the resolution of the screen.

Actually Golden Abyss is a full develop 1st Party game, while revelations is a fully develop 3rd party game.

Plus it seems that the PS Vita 35 million triangles, while the 3DS has 30.6 million triangles.

So the difference between Uncharted: Golden Abyss & Resident Evil: Reveilations 3D shouldn't be surprising to only have that little difference that you describe.

I believe that's 35M polygons/s per core. Every other source says 133M polygons/s as a whole.

Series5XT (SGXMP)

  • PowerVR SGXMP variants available as single and multi-core IP 543XT, 544XT, and 554XT series
    • Performance scales 95% linearly with number of cores and clock speed
  • Available in single to 16 core variants
    • SGX543
      • (single core) 35M polygon/s @200 MHz
      • (two cores) 68M polygon/s @200 MHz
      • (four cores) 133M polygon/s @200 MHz
      • (eight cores) 266M polygon/s @200 MHz
      • (sixteen cores) 532M polygon/s @200 MHz

        *cut*

        PlayStation Vita

        • SGX543MP4+ (four cores) @200 MHz
Struggling to find accurate numbers for the 3DS, 15.3M polygons/s and 40M polygons/s have been thrown around though.
EDIT: Many sources say the PICA200 produces 15.3M polygons/s @200mhz. If the 3DS's GPU has been overclocked to 400mhz then 30.6M polygons/s is spot on. Quite surprising really that the PSP could do 33M polygons/s, although the pixel fill rate is a lot lower than the 3DS's.

@brendude13

You right... I didn't see that before but the 35 million triangle of Vita is per core.

Like I said Revelation looks gorgeous for a 3DS game but not close to Uncharted in Vita

Did you play with the 3D ON?

You can go to options and change depth from Normal to Strong & Very Strong.

I personally go to options in Revelations and change Depth to Very Strong and change Aim to Gyro, so I can use my 3DS like a gun in hand at the zombies.
