I believe that there will be a second PS4 event, close to the unveil of the Xbox 3. Reason being, it was okay Sony didn't show the PS4's look right away. But holding off until after their competition does is not. Showing the console right then will be good marketing for them, providing a second spotlight and a detractor away from their competition. Now, they could have always shown the console in February, but maybe they really weren't done with the design and/or wanted something substantial against their competition to increase presence while just more PS4 talk wouldn't be as interesting as more PS4 talk and what the console looks like.

wasn't PS1 pretty symmetric?  Also you forgot the symmetric Vita!  They should have black and white available this time at least

Fat ps3 was waaaay sexier than ps2

The fat PS3 was their best looking console with the slim psone behind it imo

I would even say that the fat PS3 is the sexiest console ever made up to this point

I really like the PS2 slim and even the original still looks high tech.   Idk I think they just nailed it but maybe my fond memories of PS2 cloud my judgement.

Features I expect on PS4 design:

1. Self-loading disc drive.
2. Buttons for power and eject disc, as in the PS3 Slim (I'd prefer the touch sensitive buttons but I think they'll go with regular buttons from the beginning this time).
3. A power switch on the back of the box to totally shut down the power.
4. At least 3 USB 3.0 ports.
5. No power brick, of course.
6. The shape will be significantly different to PS3 Slim/Slimmer, I'm thinking flat top.
7. Black and sexy.

Having it stuck inside the console like on PS3...
