damn that needs a powerful rig! my gtx 660 should be able to handle it but to bad i will not even get close to optimal!

Actually you should get 90% of the visual fidelity with that card as someone with a GTX 690 will. Just turn off some of the silly filters or settings like ambient occlusion  and reduce AA to 2X. Unless you're one of those guys that finds a game completely unplayable without "ambient occlusion" lighting...lol.

If you are gaming on a 22-24 inch 1080p monitor and are doing 16X MSAA, youre just wasting power and generating unnecessary heat as you can't see the difference.

Also once you finish the game, you can spend the 800 dollars left over from not buying a Titan to go to Mexico on a vacation for a week which is pretty ballin.

i actually played most of tomb raider without AA, then i tried putting AA and it still ran smoothly. i would like the game to run as good as possible, i dont mind if i dont play at full HD or 60 frames per second. a solid 30 FPS is good enough for me, i just cant stand screen tearing though

Be careful with Metro, though. I can't speak for Last Light yet, but 2033 was VERY system hungry. Even a 690 would struggle in some areas.

That was one of my main concerns about Last Light! Even though Metro 2033 looked very beautiful, the damned game just took huge chunks of resources! It was pretty demanding.

Looks like it's Medium for me. :)
I would rather the higher resolution and lower-everything-else than the lower resolution and high-everything-else, if you know what I mean. :3

My GPU is really starting to age now

Intel Core i7 3770K [3.5GHz]|MSI Big Bang Z77 Mpower|Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1866 2 x 4GB|MSI GeForce GTX 560 ti Twin Frozr 2|OCZ Vertex 4 128GB|Corsair HX750|Cooler Master CM 690II Advanced|

Can I handle it?

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Wow, my PC barely meets the minimum requirements :(

My PC should handle this pretty good which is good enough for me.

Oh and already have this pre-purchased.

Everyone keeps saying how demanding 2033 was on PC. I played it on a Pentium D 2.5GHz (OC to 2.7GHz), Radeon 4650 1 GB & 2GB DDR2 RAM. I had to turn the setting to the low end but it ran just fine.

Good thing im in the process of getting a new desktop. Mine is really starting to age. Should have been able to play it on recommended but damn i want Optimal. Just waiting for the next gen GPU cards to come out!! The sooner the better.

Long Live SHIO!

must resist urge to upgrade...

Some very high specs for optimal performance, i'd say my 7970 should stack up quite well though.

I have my 7970 OC'd to 33% above stock so I am ready!!!  I will probably get 40FPS maxed out, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is some useless setting I can turn down to get 60 FPS like Far Cry 3's Ultra shadows to High (It arguably looked just as good or better to me).
