People that expect PS4 to be $400....

You're being delusional. Sony's not going to try take a $100+ loss again. They don't have the funds to.

The hell? Sony can perfectly take a $100 loss per unit and its probably what they'll take with PS4. In fact Sony's loss with PS2 was above $100 with PS2 launch too.

Its not gonna be comparable to PS3 which was $600 and Sony still made around $300 loss on each unit.

1.No they can't. Maybe when they were riding on the back of the dominant PS1, but they sure can't take that big of a loss now. They don't have the financial strength to do so.

2.And completely wiped out the profits of 10 years of PS1 and PS2 dominance.

They will and can. Sony's consoles have always been loss leaders, look up what it means. They make up for it with software and psn sales.

You mean Sony wiped out all their profits from the PS1 and PS2, did they really?

Not if they want to make a profit from the get-go.

Yeah they did. they only recently started making a profit on PS3 hardware.

How can they? They are continuosly making loses and are selling buildings to get money. So how do you expect them to take a huge $100 loss per console?

I'm still thinking $450, or up to $500 with a larger HDD.

I don't think they'll take a loss, certainly not over what a game could make them back. The weaker Yen will help them somewhat, but still. If they make a loss, then it will have to sell really, really well. If it makes a loss and sells like a Vita, then that could be the end of Sony hardware. They can't take that risk.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

If Sony yelled in a jungle with nobody around, I'd expect you to still know about it.

Or are you just pick and choose what you want to know?

I want to add this thread consisting of written gold and unbeaten prediction-quality to this thread: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=144252&page=1

Edit: "I really want 1080p@60fps with atleast 4xAA next gen." That disappointment...

So it's expected to be even more powerful and he really expects it to sell for less?

Being hyped is one thing, being a tad unreasonable is not.

The thread was so fun... I could quote a lot more things but don't - just have fun with reading it :)

Well, $450 is a lot less than $600.

Yeah I'm thinking $450 for the main model with a 1TB HDD and maybe 3 months of plus along with a download code of Knack or something small like that.  Then a $400 bare bones model (500gb HDD).  Subsciptions I have no idea but if it were just $300 and made you pay for plus for 3 years or something I would go with that since I plan on keeping plus anyway (hoping it stays at same price and has all the online features covered next gen since I'm already subbed till late 2014).  Hopefully basic online play and app access is still free along with cross game chat this time.

So it will be free?

They'll also throw money at you when you come in to buy it.  Kaz looked at their financials and said "F it we're just going to sell everything to make Playstation huge!"  They've been selling buildings to get the funds for their free launch lol

After buildings sold out Sony will sell even the company-owned pencils and will fund the PS4 price with this.
