Forums - Nintendo - How I learned to love Nintendo again....

Today I will share some personal stuff with you guys. And how you can see in the title it will be difficult to understand for a lot of people :D

But whatever. So let it start.....

I ultimately stopped to care for Nintendo after getting the Xbox 360 with my own money and getting a own PC with nothing less then World of Warcraft. After that I was totally into PC Gaming and shooters. I laughed at my older sister back then for having a Wii, cause I thought bad graphics = bad games. In reality I think I was a little bit sad that Nintendo had chosen this route with Motion Gaming and less powerful hardware. Then I saw the first commercial for the glorious game called "Super Mario Galaxy" and boy was I amazed!

It looked gorgeous. Even on the Wii. But it should take a while before I really learned to love it. So I still was a PC Elitist and Halo-Freak for a few years. But one day (early 2012 to be accurate) my sister askesd me if I want to have her Wii. She doesn't need it anymore. I said "Hmm, why not, the price isn't too high."   On the same day I ordered Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 on Amazon. And so everything should change how I see games and gaming in general.

One week later I hold it in my hands. I wasn't that psyched to be honest. The last time I played a 3D Platformer was Sunshine on a friends Gamecube. But after seeing the title screen for the first time I knew this will be something big. I instantly was hyped to play this. And I feeled something I didn't feel for a long time while playing a game. Pure fun, enjoyment and excitement. Everything in this game is just sooo right. From the graphics, the artstyle, the aestethics to the levels, the perfect gameplay and of course the music. What would Galaxy be without it's soundtrack!!!

This game showed me perfectly why Nintendo is still Software King. I absolutely was a Nintendo fanboy again. I bought every game I missed while playing PC/Xbox. And I didn't regret it in the slightest. And so I bought the Wii U on Launch Day and I still only can dream of what the next titles will look and play like and one game I'm excited the most is of course the next Mario 3D entry........

So let me/us know why YOU still love Nintendo!

I follow the same reasons as you. I know deep down inside that Nintendo can still sweep me off my feet, and Mario Galaxy was one of those cases. I am also really happy with what they did with OoT 3D.

Right now I'm most excited for the next 3D Mario, 3D Zelda and 3D Metroid.

Nintendo thinks in the fun factor first.

Same reasons as you actually.
The games are fun. And that's all I care about.
I don't care about graphics.

Need something off Play-Asia? http://www.play-asia.com/

I love them because they don't rely on over the top violence and sex.

Oh and I like puzzler games a lot. But most of all, their gameplay mechanics and polish is numero 1 is the industry.

Because Nintendo is still Nintendo:

   - Excellent music

   - Excellent art design

   - Perfect gameplay

Unlike graphics, such features will never age.
