We can guess. I'd wager that's what Nintendo's going for, but looking at what happened to Pikmin 3 I'm not taking that for granted.

Delays happen, even to Nintendo, and the fact that we still don't have release dates for their Q2 games means they aren't coming any time soon. They can probably hit Q4 for both of them, but I'm not 100% certain of that.

I agree, but then again, this is Mario. Pikmin's less than nothing compared to Mario - especially a 3D Mario platformer and Mario Kart. Personally, I'm fully convinced both will be out this year. They're the very definition of system sellers.

Pikmin 3 was supposed to be a Wii title. That never happened, while at the same time Nintendo put out Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, as well as Mario Kart 7, NSMBW, NSMB 2 and NSMBWU. Plus approximately 1,090 other Mario games.

Certainly all that's true. I don't think there's much chance they will be delayed, I'm just not ruling it out. I've learned not to take things for granted where Nintendo's concerned, especially with respect to the Wii U, so I'm waiting to hear what they're planning first before I decide whether it will work.

Fair enough - this is Nintendo we're talking about, after all.

Boats "sail" but yes, I should have used "sell" as "sale" is not correct. Title fixed.

Why do we not have these "Launch Window" games.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

Iwata promised during the last direct about Wii U, if memory serves me right, that there was going to be at least 1 first party game coming out each month starting on March, IE a constant stream of games until the end of the year. Somehow I doubt that's true. There's been Lego City in March for both NA and EU, G&W in Japan.

So far no release dates have been given for April and beyond. Iwata keeps on selling smoke and he will have to throw the towel if this continues. The strategy is terrible, there's not even hype for upcoming games. Pikmin 3 has been forgotten by the media and gamers. Wii Fit U is almost non existant. G&W bombed in Japan and there's barely any hype going for it in the west and the game hasn't got a release date, yet it was announced as a launch window game before (technically it launched before April in Japan, 28th of March lol).
The rest of the announced games are ghosts.

I can't see the console selling more than 40k on average, there's simply no way at the moment.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

Because Nintendo doesn't launch a game unless its up to their standards. Sometimes to their detriment.
