Are these results good or not ?

Some good, some bad it seems. Not as bad it could've been, the game division is down, looks like Sony is throwing in the towel on the Vita.

They reduced short term debt, but gained back about the same in long term debt.

It's great Sony is turning things around, just in time for the Ps4 release.

5m forecast for PSV+PSP. Am I the only one that thinks that Sony does not have anything exclusive in the pipes for Vita aside from what is known (tearaway and killzone)?

Yup, pretty much. They don't have much coming in the next year to sell this thing and they know it. All they can do is drop the price in the West, but that will cause a temporary bump and not much more. There's not much they can do for it otherwise.

PS3+PS4 sales will kill next year.

I really don't think so, by their own forecast the PS3 is going to drop quite a bit and it sounds like the PS4 is likely to be expensive since they are not forecast much of a change in operating income for next fiscal year (which basically rules out selling the thing at a big loss) for the gaming division.

They'll probably sell 5-6 million PS3s through March 31st, 2014, and that's if it does fairly well.

The DS selling 30 million in a year or the PS2 doing 20+ million in a year is "killing it".

That match with the 16m rumor... 10m from PS3... 6m from PS4.

PS. I didn't undertand the 30 million / 20 million part for DS and PS2.

6 million might be optimistic to be honest. The Wii was hotter than a canonball its first few months and it barely managed 6 million at $250 (granted Nintendo undershipped for its first Dec/Jan, but actually they shipped quite a bit for a new console for Feb/March of 2007). We're likely talking about the PS4 as a $400-$500 proposition, that's still quite a bit of money for a lot of people.

Uh no, they're forecasting 10M ps3s shipped through 31 march 2014. Last q PS3 and PS2 sold 3.4M, almost 1M up YOY. PS3 is more popular than ever. If they don't forecast a loss for the game division then thats pretty good. They always make a loss with the introduction of a new console.

10 million is alright, I just don't define that as "killing it", lol.

Ouch Vita. Very ouch.

On the plother hand, PS3 and PS2 continue to look strong. Dat PS2.
