Ok, after the update...I don't have any incentive to buy the Xbox Mini. Buying a Durango and a Xbox360 is cheaper...

According to this leak, no. |
How are you arriving at that conclusion? This rumor goes against that document. It mentioned the XBOX 361 as launching in 2012 as a cheaper system for every room and every person, not a set-top companion to the 720.

That was fake. |
According to whom? I never heard about it being fake. And everything since then keeps adding more and more credibility to it.

Zuh? Sounds like XBox Mini could be $99. It's also probably much smaller than the existing 360. No disc drive + likely a 22-28nm chipset shrink is a big difference.
I get it, this is actually quite a smart strategy from MS.

Yep which imo makes it more likely to be true..I mean if the opposite becomes true the shit storm would be too much

Why do people keep saying this? Not a single thing in the document has come true.

So let me get this straight: If you are an XBox360 owner, you probably get royally srewed by Microsoft, once again? It is very suspicious that all that tv stuff suddenly seems to go into a dedicated "Small Xbox" (and it can be expected this miracle box comes with dedicated entertainment software) . So can the old XBox360 also work as "Small Box"? Or do XBox360 users HAVE to get the "Small Box" for the entertainment pack? |
The entertainment pack is for both devices.. I see it more as an trojan horse opening up a different market.. people will have the choice getting only the media device and the option of the game device later on.. while more hardcore audience will get the game device with the same media functions except the 360 BC.. one is a heavy multimedia device with light gaming abilties the other is a heavy game device with heavy multimedia abilities.. with this strategy they are attempting to tackle a much larger audience then only gamers..
I can see myself having the multimedia device in my bedroom and the game device in the livingroom..

The price range as mentioned in the article goes up to $150, though -> 150€ in Europe
For 130€ I can get a new 4GB Xbox360 slim with a DVD drive for movies, if I want to buy the Xbox360 used I can get the 250GB one for 110€
The few extra features of the Xbox mini just are not interesting enough for me.
