Still they showed Killzone in february... Which is ok but this sounds strange given the hype about Killzone :)
But he is just saying that PS4 will have more games than just FPS which is also true for their competition.

I like this. The PSX and PS2 weren't successful because of their "hardcore" games but a wide variety of genres and titles. Singstar sold more PS2's in Europe than all Call of Duty's combined sold PS3's.
Sony's saying the right things lately: Focus on games, not showing the console because "It's just a box", no going crazy over general entertainment. Let's see if their actions follow their words. I'm definitely interested. Never thought this would happen after the PS Vita to be honest. But it looks like they're focusing all of their resources on PS4.
They should've made Knack like Crash Bandicoot (Gameplay wise) but with a different character. That would've been awesome and it would be one hell of a launch game.
well they are leading by example with last of us and beyond two souls, i havent seen anything like that on xbox, i would but i doubt it would happen and it doesnt matter this late in the game. i would like to see something outside of a fps for the nextbox, and no usher please.
well this gen may see a game that will be influenced by most devs, just look at 5th gen had many Mario 64 clones, just like 7th gen had so many COD clones

Imagine shadowfall is an open world RPG? Extremely unlikely, I know, but holy shit that setting would be awesome.
That quote was taken out of context. Is was more to explain why a game like Knack exist.
That quote was just to make anti-FPS people happy. There were always plenty of options for people who want something more than shooters and not just from Sony.

That´s great to hear.SCE is, alongside Nintendo, my favorite developer/publisher.I love the variety...Uncharted, God of War, Ratchet & Clank, Gran Turismo, Sly, Infamous, Killzone, LittleBigPlanet, Last of Us, and also games like Heavy Rain/Beyond...you´ve got a lot of different genres there.
Of the 'big 3', they seem to be who experiment with different genres the most.
So far, it seems Sony has been pushing the right buttons with the PS4.
Good news, but games like Ratchet and Clank, Spyro etc. shows they can create varied games. Though they did focus more on FPS' this gen than previous.
New IPs are the name of the game for me.
Unfortunately no matter what, if FPS keeps selling, it will keep being developed and milked.
I do hope a new trend in game genres comes up, though.
I remember the PlayStation One / Saturn generation where fighters and RPGs were the shit. Good times. ;)
